J and A pool contruction(JUAN)owner is a honest reliable man,he had a lot of patience with me,because i had a very hard time chosing the right tile color and design,that would go best with the pool red coping and white plaster,and also suggested to replece the 20 yrs old filter and pump,for a new variable speed energy saver pool pump.and 200.0 dols rebate from SCE awesome(cool)so we the CABRERA'S are happy and ready to startt the swiming season ho yeah! thank you servicemagic and J_A>

Build or Install a Concrete Swimming Pool

The Project was done in a very professional manner, the crews were very professional, and the job was done in really good time. I always was able to contact them for anything we needed to know, This the second pool newly installed. The first was a nightmare. J & A Pools made this a very good experience. We interviewed four other pool company's and they were higher in price and they were not as honest as J & A Pools representative. We would HIGHLY RECOMMEND to anyone who is looking to install a new pool or recondition a pool. Signed the Cervantes Family

We were grateful we choose J&A. They are the best!!! Two of the other contracters, out of the four you provided to me, were losers in my opinion, and inflated their coursory estimates with out a detailed survey of work site. Minor phone problems caused delayed response by third contractor who appeared to be very competent and accurate in his original estimate.

I am very satisfied with the quality of the work performed. Juan was a true professional and oversaw the majority of the work himself. He went out of his way to make sure I was happy with the work. He listened to my ideas and suggested a few of his own. The end result is...I have a great pool. I definetly would recommend his company and I hope that if and when I need Servicemagic again, I get a contractor as kind and considerate as Juan. J & A are true craftsman!

We're committed to maintaining a network of trusted home service businesses, and those who don't meet our criteria will be rejected or promptly removed from our network.

Criminal Background Check

Who does HomeAdvisor background check?

The owner or principal of each business in HomeAdvisor's network (with the exception of Corporate Accounts) must pass a background check. Unfortunately, we cannot perform a background check on every employee of a business—the background checks are performed only on the owner or principal. As always, we recommend that you conduct your own research on the businesses you hire, including making inquiries directly with the businesses regarding their employee background check policies.

What does the background check cover?

We use a third-party vendor to conduct a criminal records search in the county in which the business owner or principal works. Our third-party vendor uses a national criminal database ("NCD") to screen service professionals. Business owners or principals with felony arrests that carry a pending decision or who are convicted of felonies in the past 7 years ago will not be admitted to the network. Businesses or owners convicted misdemeanors or felonies, or who have dismissed charges or arrests on their records involving rape/incest, sex offenses, or lewd and lascivious behavior at any point in time will not be admitted to our network.

Our background check does not exclude service professionals unless the crime at issue is a felony.

*The comprehensiveness of the NCD varies by state. Please be aware that the reporting in the NCD is particularly limited in the following states: AL, CO, DE, GA, ID, IL, KS, LA, ME, MA, MI, MS, MT, NE, NV, NH, NM, SD, UT, VA, VT, and WY. After initial admission to the HomeAdvisor network, businesses are re-screened if a concern is reported to HomeAdvisor.

Corporate Accounts

Some businesses are employees, franchisees, dealers or independent contractors ("Corporate SP's") of larger national or "Corporate Accounts". When this is the case, we may match you with the Corporate Account or with one of their Corporate businesses. The above screening process does not apply to Corporate Accounts, as HomeAdvisor does not screen Corporate Accounts or Corporate businesses.

Verify Trade License HomeAdvisor checks to see if the business carries the appropriate state-level license. Verify Insurance As a part of our screening process, we encourage professionals to carry general liability insurance. We require coverage for hundreds of services. Verification of State Business Filings For business types that require a Secretary of State filing, we confirm that the business is in good standing in the state in which it is located. Criminal Records Search HomeAdvisor uses 3rd party data sources to conduct a criminal search for any relevant criminal activity associated with the owner/principal of the business. Sex Offender Search We confirm that the owner/principal is not listed on the official state Sex Offender web site in the state in which the owner/principal of the company is located. Bankruptcy Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the history of the principal/owner of the business for bankruptcy filings by or against them. Legal Search for Civil Judgments We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for state level civil legal judgments entered against them. Liens Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for liens placed against them. Identity Verification (SSN) HomeAdvisor verifies the social security number(s) of the owner/principal for identity check purposes. This check applies primarily to smaller business entities. Identity Verification (Reverse Phone Lookup) We conduct a reverse business phone lookup to identify records matching the phone number information provided by the business.
