I do not normally write reviews, but I feel like I should let other people know about this company. I could write an entire essay on my experience with them but I will try and keep it short. I hired HL to redo my entire front lawn with new walkways, retaining walls, plants, mulch, and trees. I spent over $17,000 and thought I was getting a great deal. Dave and his group were very nice at first but once work had begun things quickly changed. They would say nice stuff to my face but I would catch them saying bad things about me behind my back. They had horrible communication with me, they rushed to get to the next job, and I had several problems with their work. The amount of stress they caused me was truly unfair to me. I eventually got most of the problems fixed. One of those problems was they did not install weed fabric under all my beds as discussed. They came back and fixed it but did a horrible job. They also put barely enough mulch back to cover the fabric and dirt so now I have a literal jungle in most areas. I was not happy before I paid but no amount of money is worth the issues they caused me. They even put grass seed in the mulched areas that are now grass. I would have tried to get them to come back out for the fourth time but it is not worth the stress. I expect a little maintenance but my yard looks nothing that was agreed to. I will have to fix it myself in the spring but I had to write this review because everyday I look at my yard and I am not pleased. Reading the other reviews makes mine stick out but I would not recommend them. Spend your money on a better company. UPDATE: Owner reached out to remedy the issue. They came out and pulled out all old mulch, weed, and weed fabric and replaced them. Looks much better. They seem to have taken more care this time and I hope it works. Fabric seems to have been put down better with more mulch too. I hope the mulch is deep enough with a combination of fabric to stop most weeds in the spring.

Awesome company. Quality work at a fair price. They actually use their phones. I would hire again and definitely recommend.

HL worked with us to design the patio we wanted and came up with some very good ideas that we adopted. They then installed it quickly with a crew that was extremely courteous and accommodating to us with regard to some final adjustments that we asked for during the installation. The result exceeded our expectations. We will likely hire HL again.

David and Catherine have a great crew and do what they say is going to be done, in the time frame agreed to. They did a large project for us right before Thanksgiving. His crews worked late some times to ensure they where done on time. The workmanship is fantastic, paying attention to every little detail. Davids design and installation crew greatly exceeded our expectations... We cannot say enough about HL design! You can hire with confidence, David and Catherine will do you right.

They came at the appointed time, and were very courteous, and were very knowledgeable about the trees. Removed the two large dead pine trees, took everything away, and blew off the driveway. If the need arises I will certainly use HL Design again. I would also reccommend HL Design to others.

Amazing man and very attentive to detail and request and ideas and was able to make the idea come to an actual vision of what I wanted the back yard to look like. Great personalized experience and awesome customer service.
