Mark and his team provided excellent trim repair work at a reasonable price. The team completed the work in a timely manner, and the interaction with Mark was pleasant and trustworthy from start to finish.

I am a disabled USAF Veteran currently trying to heal from multiple Traumatic Brain Injuries. I am supposed to be resting and recovering not dealing with an unprofessional contractor. Instead I am LIVID with Angi's List and this awful "highly recommended" contractor! This whole experience with Angi's List has been DAMAGING to my healing and wellbeing. I informed Mark of my military service and Traumatic Brain Injuries. Rather than doing the job right, he took advantage of my weakened state. Absolutely SHAMELESS. As of yesterday, I told Mark that I don't want him or any of his workers at my house anymore because they are so unprofessional and irresponsible. And I've had ENOUGH! I have 20+ years experience doing construction myself. I have proof for everything I'm saying and want someone from Angi's List to come to my house ASAP so I can show them IN PERSON all of the issues. Mark (HB Remodeling) has been unprofessional from the beginning. The original estimate was $20,000. This was to replace a lot of siding, replace all attic screens (which keep bugs and rodents out of attic), and replace existing gutters with SEAMLESS gutters that have high quality leaf guards. This was very overpriced but i was willing to pay more because HB Remodeling had all 5-star ratings on Angi's List. Mark wanted $15,000 up front. This should not have been more than $10,000 but I agreed because we had large holes in our rotted siding and didn't want rodents/bugs to get inside. We were desperate. Work was delayed 3 WEEKS. Mark never even notified me. It wasn't until I texted him a couple of weeks later, bc I was afraid he just took off with my $$, that he claimed he had sent me an email about the delay. An email i never received. I asked him to resend it or text me a screenshot of it. He claimed he couldn't even find it himself bc his company's email hadn't been working correctly. If he knew this, and could see that I never responded, WHY DIDN'T HE TEXT OR CALL ME??I realize now that this is bc the email was just one of MANY lies to come. Mark is an unprofessional, irresponsible, compulsive liar. When work finally started, I was glad. His crew (of DAY LABORERS, who brought at least one WIFE and CHILDREN) seemed to be making good progress. After a few days, his crew asked me to look at their work. I told them that they missed many important things. They said they would take care of some of it, but that they didn't know about other things. (Mark lied to them.)For example, the siding above both of my garage doors were supposed to be replaced but wasn't. The crew claimed they didn't get enough new siding for this, so they would need more $ from Mark so they could go buy more.They also didn't replace the TOP trim around my garage door openings. The side garage door trim that they did replace was done incorrectly, which prevented the large garage door from closing and left large gaps around the bottom areas. They also didn't replace several sections of rotted fascia board. They said I needed to add a drip edge along my entire roofline. I agreed. Mark charged me another $10,000 for this. This should have been an extra $2-3,000 max. But I felt stuck and knew this needed to be done. They installed the drip edge everywhere, but they did an extremely SLOPPY job. This large crew NEVER RETURNED. Instead two new workers showed up. One named Jose. The other guy never spoke. Jose blamed everything on the previous crew. One thing i noticed right away was that Jose was installing gutters WITH seams even though I specifically ordered SEAMLESS gutters. Both Jose and Mark claimed that these were just as good as seamless. I agreed to see how they turned out. And they turned out AWFUL. They look terrible and were NOT installed correctly. I WANT ALL GUTTERS REPLACED WITH SEAMLESS GUTTERS LIKE I ORDERED BUT FROM A PROFESSIONAL SEAMLESS GUTTER INSTALLATION COMPANY. Day after day, I texted Mark all of the issues. I showed Jose and Mark issue after issue after issue. They both kept saying they would take care of the issues, but then didn't or didn't do the work correctly. Mark even told me that his workers could only remember about 30% of what he told them, yet Mark never once wrote down any of the issues or made a checklist for them. On top of all of this each day they left a mess on my property. Some of this is normal, but trash from fast food, water bottles cigarette butts, and other debris left in our driveway is unprofessional and DANGEROUS. Whenever i told Mark about this, he just said ok. On Aug 5, I gave Mark another $14,000 because he convinced me that he would make sure everything was finished correctly. He cashed my check IMMEDIATELY AND THEN HE NEVER CAME BACK. Jose kept correcting things i found little by little but he also kept continuing to miss obvious things. Things that i was told were done already days before. On Aug 7, Mark sent me a text saying, "Work complete" even though Mark never came to my house to verify this. When i came home to check the work, I found at least 20 things that were still not incomplete, done wrong or done sloppily. When I told Jose, Jose said he could only stay for a couple more hours bc Mark wanted him to start a new job somewhere else. I talked to Mark over the phone. I was angry. I said, "Why did you tell me all of the work is done even though it isn't, without even coming to verify personally? Why do you keep telling me you’re going to get everything done right, but then don’t? Why am i doing your job?" Mark just had one excuse after another. He said Jose said everything was done. I sent Mark a bunch of pics and videos proving that a bunch of work still needed to be done. MARK CLAIMED HE COULDN'T VIEW THE VIDEOS I SENT (a lie of course) AND THAT JOSE's PICS WERE DIFFERENT THAN MINE. He suggested that he come out the following day and that he and i would tell Jose what needed to be done, and literally stand there until Jose finished. This is ABSURD. Many of these things would take anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour to repair EACH. PLUS, these garbage gutters don’t need to be fixed, they need to be REPLACED with SEAMLESS gutters, like I asked for in the first place. MARK REFUSES TO RESPOND TO THIS. So I fired HB Remodeling. I want someone from Angi's List's Corporate Office to contact me ASAP to schedule a visit.

I called H.B. Remodeling & Project Management regarding repair to some siding and flashing at my chimney. Mark returned my call the same day and we set up an appointment for him to view the damage. We agreed on the work to be done and he gave the cost of the project. Mark is knowledgeable and very professional. If I made any calls to him, he promptly returned such calls. He shows a sincere desire to ensure a project is completed to your satisfaction. The crew that performed the work was also great. They did an excellent job and worked timely to complete the project. The crew also took pride in the quality of their work. H.B. Remodeling is an outstanding company. I highly recommend them.
