Write a ReviewOscar and Sergio from Guzman the Second Branch truly saved the day! I had two days left before sod delivery, and after multiple no-shows and failed jobs from other contractors, I needed serious help. They answered immediately, arrived within hours, and quickly fixed issues left behind by the previous contractor, including a poorly installed French drain and crushed rock (quarter minus) on top of soil, which would have prevented the sod from growing. In 113-degree heat, they worked tirelessly and completed the job in one visit. Their attention to detail, professionalism, and fair pricing left me in awe. My neighbors even asked for their contact info after seeing the transformation! I’ll be using them for future projects without hesitation. Oscar and Sergio are the real deal!
We have been using Carlos and his crew for a couple of years. He and his crew (Sergio and Peanut) always arrive as scheduled, do a thorough job and leave the yard looking refreshed.
I am very happy that Mr. Guzman stands by the 5 year warranty on parts/materials that he offers. He replaced the sprinkler valve that failed after only a year due to a manufacturing defect. Thank you for keeping your word!
He was very nice and very good quality. Would definitely recommend!
Came the same day to do an evaluation and booked the appointment. I did a cleanup and weed spray and everything was done exceptionally well. I highly recommend their services. This was my first time using them and I will be using them from now on. Again Highly recommended.
Carlos and his crew showed up and although I added extras work they accepted it and got everything done and cleaned up in no time. His pricing was fantastic, they’re fast, efficient, knowledgeable and helpful. I plan on doing more work with him next week doing the rick work in the front yard.
Miss Scarlett is still working on the project, but she seems professional, hardworking and very ethical. She wanted very much to be sure that the job that she would do would make sense and that I would be happy. She wouldn’t give me a quote until she was sure I understood and agreed. She also had some great suggestions to cut down on the cost.I asked her to move sprinklers 5 feet from the curb, she was very insistent that I understand that the grass between the curb and the new sprinkler placement will die, as she didn’t want to feel responsible even though it’s my decision, plan and insistence. When I explained that I WANTED the area with no water to become a cactus garden she finally relented. I also explained that I will install sparse drip irrigation and that we have the most square footage of lawn on the neighborhood and it takes lots of expensive water. We will save on water with part of the yard as cactus, blooming yucca, and desert flowers.
The rating is low due to a communication gap between Carlos and myself. What I believed to be the job (and the price was high) was not what Guzmans performed. In the future I will get it in writing with detailed definitions. For what I received in services was over-priced. I did not get what I thought I was paying for or I would have negotiated a lower price. Edging to me is done with an edging tool. To Guzmans it is a Weed Wacker. The Weed Wacker did cut the grass off at the edge of the pavement only for the grass to grow back over in a few days. I thought I was paying for edging. Trimming a hedge to me is to follow any border that may be present. This was not done the hedge is over the border. Pre-emergent to me is spraying the whole area (except lawn) and to last 3 to 5 months. Pre-emergent to Guzmans is to spray only the weeds that are visible. I thought the rock landscaping would be completely sprayed. Weeding to me is to remove any weeds that are above ground. Weeding to Guzmans is to spray weeds with weed killer and leave the weeds in place. So what I am left with is not green weeds but yellow weeds where green weeds were. Month later I still have yellow weeds along with new green weeds popping up. Raking to me is to remove all the dead debris fallen from trees. Raking to Guzman's is to rake up most of the leaves but if the fallen debris is twig like leave it there. Guarantee to me is a company that is confident in their work. Guzmans game back two times after original job. I was not up for another visit when each time they told me they did what they said they were going to do. They said they were here to fulfill their guarantee. I do not want them back again, I have learned my lesson get it in writing. Although Sergio did his best to do a great job it just was not the workmanship I thought I was paying for or received in the past by others. But Carlos, Sergio, and Alex did see a big weed next to my hedge and asked if I wanted it taken out. I said yes and they did not charge me. They also removed some weeds in a planter and did not charge me.
Carlos did a fantastic job on my yard. I had weeds almost as tall as me and he got rid of all of them and the little ones too. He was so fast at responding to an inquiry for the job and he had it finished the next day! Superior service, great communication! Would definitely hire them again!
He wa first one to call and did the service the same day. I was really excited to see the yard look great.
