Richard Eppers, the Owner and President of Guardian was actually the technician who serviced my air conditioning unit. He took time to explain how he was going to proceed, and as a senior sheltered during the pandemic, was relieved when he did not enter my home before putting on his mask and covering for his shoes. He found and fixed the problem in a relatively short amount of time, and offered advice on temperature control and future maintenance. Richard was very courteous with being phony, showed genuine concern and was totally professional throughout. In the end we discussed a maintenance agreement, which I decided was the appropriate route to avoid any future "surprises". The agreement was reasonable and I strongly feel, that though had no previous knowledge of this company, based on the Owner, that future technicians will just as professional and knowledgeable. I could not have expected in customer service, from my first call in and expeditious scheduling and followup by the office staff, to the completion of the call by Richard, I would highly recommend Guardian in a heartbeat!. I fully expect any future technicians to show the same professionalism and expertise as their boss.

As I am writing this I realize that I am not completely satisfied with their service other than the tech was friendly and knowledgeable. Initially, I scheduled the appointment for an annual maintenance on our 3 units. On the day of the service their office called about 3 hours into the 4 hour window to inform me they needed to reschedule the appointment. The woman apologetically explained that I was the last appointment of the day, and the job ahead of me ran into a major repair that would run late into the evening. Though I had been inconvenienced by this, I understand these things happen and was still willing to give them a try. When the tech came out the following week, I walked around with him for a bit showing him where to access the units. I explained the air filters had recently been changed except for the one in the attic which he did for me using the filter I had purchased from Home Depot. When I asked him about the condensation hoses for the units in the basement he recommended I put a little bleach in the pump to keep it clean. Is not that something he should do as part of the maintenance I am paying for? I also asked him about cleaning the condenser coils on the outside units. He said he would check to see if they need it, which surprised me because that has always been standard with other companies as well. I had an appointment to go to while the tech was working. My husband was there for the rest of the service. We ended up replacing a capacitor in one of the older units, and the annual maintenance plan seemed like the most economical at $281 for 2 visits a year. But in hindsight I am wondering if it really was worth it.

While we truly understand your concerns, we apologize if the technician did not relay our services appropriately. We do check & blow out the flow of your lines if necessary, as well as recommend that homeowners periodically add a little bleach to prevent any growth.
