Reviews
Write a ReviewTom does not honor his warranty. After having our garage floor coated, after 4 years the top coat is failing. Excuse after excuse and finally Tom said "well you only paid $xxxx" I'm done with him.
After reviewing the original quote, it is clear this home owner is mistaken. Stu called for a repair. The month his warranty was set to expire. When we arrived to see what the repair was for, it was for the look of the floor- he felt it was appearance or yellowing. 1st- UV-resistant top coats (poly aspartic) were not available back in the day and at the time of this installation.
Took longer then stated
We are sorry the repair took longer than expected. We want every floor to be done properly and will not leave an install just to be on time to the next home. Also weather can postpone the end date and is out of our control. Emergencies and accidents are not in our control either. Sometimes things happens. Again, we are sorry; however, thankful you enjoy the floor
We hired Garage Solutions to install an epoxy flake floor in our garage and a small attached back room with some concrete repair work beforehand. The workers were prompt and friendly and the job was executed promptly. The cleanup was great other than several spots of grey and dribbled across the driveway but we have the blacktop resealed annually so it was not an issue. Accidents happen. The garage floor was completely transformed and looks incredible! We noticed a spot in the back room where the top coat was either not fully applied in that area or did not cure properly. We brought this to Toms attention. He was very responsive at first and seemed eager to resolve this. He mentioned that he had issues with the top coat that year and we should call him back in the spring because he would have more time to come out. Which we did. Then maybe he forgot, saying he had come out multiple times but he never fully addressed that issue. He instructed us on how to clean it, and despite having an already spotless floor, we tried his suggested technique. But-- it IS hard to clean a spot where the top coat is missing or applied too thin or did not cure or whatever happened. Throughout the summer we played phone tag, but he never answered, his VM was full, and when we finally got thru via text, he said the new top coat was on 3 weeks back order and it was not going to match the new top coat anyway. We did not care. Clear is clear. We did not want the flakes coming off the floor. We waited but had to contact him again several more times. He kept saying. I do not know what you want me to do. We would like you to please fix it. However, you can. He is a professional in this field. We were still trying to get this resolved up until today. 15 months after the job was done. If the top coat is defective, then the manufacturer needs to rectify it. This should not fall through on the consumer/customer. And if it is the employees lack of education or experience, they need further training. We expected this job to get done correctly. The entire floor, because that is what we paid for. Not just part of it. And if there was a problem we assumed it would get resolved. Garage Solutions was recommended to us by a trusted friend. It is disappointing to see a reputable business handle a minor situation so poorly. We have been more than patient. During the last call with Tom, he sounded irritated and told us again, to clean the floor, the top coat wont match so it is pointless for him to do. And why have we waited so long? We did not. We tried to have this taken care of immediately. We have been running in circles because he has not fixed the problem and appears to be dragging his feet. The rest of the garage floor came out great and we are happy with it. If you hire this company I hope it works out for you. Other than this-- it would have been an excellent experience. But I warn you to please be cautious in the unfortunate event you have problems because trying to get it resolved is hopeless. It is worth spending a little more money and going with a company that will take care of any concerns the right way. One with strong customer service skills...not just great sales skills.
Garage Solutions did both my garage and my basement. Previously, the garage floor was a disaster: cracked, spalled, broken, and uneven. They repaired the cracks and breaks, smoothed out the rough spots, and laid down a beautiful coating. There are still a few minor rough spots, but the transformation was stunning. The basement floor was in much better shape before their work, and it is simply gorgeous now.
