Here at First Choice Electrical and Solar we are a full service electrical contractor experienced in ALL residential electrical projects; to include electrical remodels, lighting remodels, new construction wiring, wiring additions, garages, ADU’s, panel replacement and full service upgrades, residential solar systems, off-grid battery solar systems, whole home stand-by generators, hot tub wiring, manual transfer switches for portable generators and a variety of other projects. We operate with Professionalism, Integrity, and Craftsmanship and never deter from these principles. We look forward to building strong, long-term relationships with our clients and strive to provide satisfaction. First Choice Electrical and Solar takes its obligation to the community very serious as we are tasked to provide safe and professional electrical systems for our community. How We Got Started

I chose to work in this industry because Straight out of high school I was desperately looking for a career I could invest myself in and that I would enjoy. I was very lucky because the first real job I landed as an electrical apprentice for a solar company I fell in love with immediately. I knew that I wanted to be an electrician and one day open a company and begin electrical contracting..

We started in this industry in 2011.

Upgraded service to 200 AMP. Did all the coordinating for permits, power company and inspection. Worked quickly to minimize the time the power had to be off for the entire house. Very professional.

Nice to support local business. Owner assessed the problem quickly. I thought I had problem with my electrical in the kitchen. I only needed to replace the light fixture. I was able to reschedule quickly once the new fixture arrived. Install looks great.

Criminal Background Check

Who does HomeAdvisor background check?

The owner or principal of each business in HomeAdvisor's network (with the exception of Corporate Accounts) must pass a background check. Unfortunately, we cannot perform a background check on every employee of a business—the background checks are performed only on the owner or principal. As always, we recommend that you conduct your own research on the businesses you hire, including making inquiries directly with the businesses regarding their employee background check policies.

What does the background check cover?

We use a third-party vendor to conduct a criminal records search in the county in which the business owner or principal works. Our third-party vendor uses a national criminal database ("NCD") to screen service professionals. Business owners or principals with felony arrests that carry a pending decision or who are convicted of felonies in the past 7 years ago will not be admitted to the network. Businesses or owners convicted misdemeanors or felonies, or who have dismissed charges or arrests on their records involving rape/incest, sex offenses, or lewd and lascivious behavior at any point in time will not be admitted to our network.

Our background check does not exclude service professionals unless the crime at issue is a felony.

*The comprehensiveness of the NCD varies by state. Please be aware that the reporting in the NCD is particularly limited in the following states: AL, CO, DE, GA, ID, IL, KS, LA, ME, MA, MI, MS, MT, NE, NV, NH, NM, SD, UT, VA, VT, and WY. After initial admission to the HomeAdvisor network, businesses are re-screened if a concern is reported to HomeAdvisor.

Corporate Accounts

Some businesses are employees, franchisees, dealers or independent contractors ("Corporate SP's") of larger national or "Corporate Accounts". When this is the case, we may match you with the Corporate Account or with one of their Corporate businesses. The above screening process does not apply to Corporate Accounts, as HomeAdvisor does not screen Corporate Accounts or Corporate businesses.

Verify Trade License HomeAdvisor checks to see if the business carries the appropriate state-level license. Verify Insurance As a part of our screening process, we encourage professionals to carry general liability insurance. We require coverage for hundreds of services. Verification of State Business Filings For business types that require a Secretary of State filing, we confirm that the business is in good standing in the state in which it is located. Criminal Records Search HomeAdvisor uses 3rd party data sources to conduct a criminal search for any relevant criminal activity associated with the owner/principal of the business. Sex Offender Search We confirm that the owner/principal is not listed on the official state Sex Offender web site in the state in which the owner/principal of the company is located. Bankruptcy Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the history of the principal/owner of the business for bankruptcy filings by or against them. Legal Search for Civil Judgments We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for state level civil legal judgments entered against them. Liens Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for liens placed against them. Identity Verification (SSN) HomeAdvisor verifies the social security number(s) of the owner/principal for identity check purposes. This check applies primarily to smaller business entities. Identity Verification (Reverse Phone Lookup) We conduct a reverse business phone lookup to identify records matching the phone number information provided by the business.
