We have not completed the project with Carol as of yet. We have learned a lot about working with a designer. She is very professional with lots of ideas and resources. This review is premature and we will update.

Carol came to our home and preceded to talk about herself and her other projects. She never opened a design book or gave input on how she would redesign our project. She was very clear about $100 an hour. Every phone call, meeting. We paid her $250 and that was a total waste of money. She was not prepared. I was totally willing to pay the fee to get good help but she is not it!
Response from Company:
Hello Elizabeth, Our initial phone contact included a brief discussion of your interior design challenges. We scheduled the initial meeting to review the areas of dissatisfaction, review possible design changes and make the game plan to accomplish the design goals. You understood the design services and fees and the meeting would take 1-1/2 to 3 hours. I really enjoyed our initial meeting with you and your husband, and was pleased to make suggestions to save you time, money, and mistakes, whether you moved forward with me, or decided to take on your design project yourselves. That was my goal and you happily hired me for the next stage of implementation by signing the design services agreement before I left. I felt your excitement to move forward and I looked forward to getting started. When you did not return two of my calls, I was confused. Based on this review, you had a change of heart. It would have been very helpful to have discussed this in person or over the phone to rectify any dissatisfaction you felt, or clarifications you may have wanted. Onsite, at the consult, we reviewed your foyer, kitchen, dining, breakfast, laundry, powder, piano, family and master bathroom design issues. Here is some of what was discussed or recommended. 1. Relocation of your refrigerator to make the layout smarter and removing a wall for more light in the kitchen. 2. Adding a kitchen bar area with bar stools and checking the clearance to the dining table. 3. Refacing, refinishing, and/or replacing the kitchen and laundry room cabinets to satisfy both you and your husbands different visions. 4. Dining, piano and living room furnishings. 5. Powder bathroom redesign options. 6. Front door, base molding and wood floor finish issues. 7. Paint color to enhance the 3-dimensional quality of your beautiful home. 8. Master bathroom redesign. 9. Granite shopping options, locations and coordinating our schedules. I was pleased to have covered so much ground during the consult. I wish you both the best with your design goals. Sincerely, Carol Ellis, ASID Allied Member Interior Designer Ellis Design Group, LLC 541-556-7620

Carol & her team helped us with our lighting plan and other items on our long list of to-dos when we purchased a fixer upper. First she guided us through the initial process of reviewing our plans, guiding us through the process of hiring the right trades. Then lighting as well as other more texhnical aspects of our project. Finally she nailed it with a timeless color palette for both the exterior & interior. Amazing talent, utmost patience, technical knowledge and so professional. We couldn't ask for more.

I am still working with them. So far I am very impressed with their professionalism. Great helping me with decisions. Carol is wonderful and very detailed orientated, a fantastic help with things I would otherwise not have thought of. But most of all keeping me on track and not letting me go too crazy. So far it has been delightful experience.
Response from Company:
Hello Joann, Thank you for taking the time to write this review. I have really enjoyed working with you and the redesign of your home is coming along nicely. It is exciting to see the progression as you and I work out the details. Thank you again, Carol Ellis

RUN RUN RUN This is the first time I have ever felt the need to leave a negative review of a business but I really feel like this is the only way for me to maybe prevent others from having the same experience that my wife and I had. I run a business myself and do not understand how someone can rack up thousands of dollars of work and not let the person know at any point during the process of how much time they are spending on the design process. We felt like we were taken advantage of for not asking about how much time she was spending. I have waited a month or so because I thought I would cool down a bit but I really have not. We asked her to work with us on the bill because she did not communicate at all, but she said she could not give us any of her time for free, and she had worked hard on the project. I hope that people read this it can save them the heartache.
Response from Company:
Dear Zach, I always want our clients to have a great experience. I am truly sorry and disappointed you feel taken advantage of. At our first meeting and signing of the Design Services Agreement, you were not there as recommended to your wife during our first phone contact. Since your project was a rush and your home was under construction, I prepared one design concept for only the areas your wife requested, including a floor plan and supporting elevations, as quickly as possible. We reviewed the drawings and the changes you both requested, along with space planning and some of the finish issues in your home. You were pleased with the design, as there were ideas you hadn't thought of or didn't think possible. I told you what was necessary to complete the construction documents. You accepted the final drawings and immediately implemented the design into the remodel of your home. After receiving the invoice you emailed me that you had a budget. Sadly you or your wife never mentioned it to me. You noted that your wife had told you our average cost for your type of project, your total invoice was considerably less, yet you still were requesting a credit of almost a full day worth of design services. We welcome client budgets. It is imperative we know of them early on in the project. I could have met your budget by limiting the scope of your design had you communicated your budget to me and saved you your heartache and my disappointment. Your design has many great functional details and your home will be enjoyable for years to come. Again, I am truly sorry that you feel taken advantage of. Sincerely, Carol Ellis, Allied ASID Interior Designer

Carol was wonderful in redesigning a horrible outdated and non- functional kitchen! She was great with the design and walked us through every step of the way. We love both the look and functionality of the new space wiochsnging the original footprint.
Response from Company:
Thank you Nancy for allowing me to assist you with the redesign of your kitchen. It was definitely non-functional being so small, having no storage and circulation entering the kitchen from all 4 walls. The outcome gave you a larger kitchen within the same space, more storage and counter space, and a beautiful space to prepare meals for you and your family. It was a great challenge!
