DFW Pool Experts subcontracts every phase of the project, leaving the owner with little control over the crew. David only contacted us when requesting payment or after we raised concerns about delays. Workers damaged our pool/spa lights, grouted over our smart spigot, and damaged the autofill system. David later attempted to charge us $350 for repairs caused by his own contractor wiring the system incorrectly. David quoted us $600?$700 for mastic replacement until we provided a copy of the signed agreement proving it was in our contract. On 6/4/26, David called only to ask us to mail the final payment of $500. There was no final walkthrough or inspection. The pool has two long white streaks across the bottom; visible trowel marks and imperfections remain throughout the pool surface. Between the delays, poor communication, property damage, attempts to charge us for contractor mistakes, and disappointing workmanship, we DO NOT recommend DFW Pool Experts. Zero stars.

Response from Company:

We are sorry that the remodeling process did not meet your expectations. While we respect your right to share your experience, we believe prospective customers deserve additional context regarding this project. Throughout the renovation, we worked to address concerns as they were brought to our attention. The smart-fill issue was repaired at no cost to the homeowner, the lighting issue was ultimately resolved at no cost to the homeowner, and questions regarding billing were reviewed and addressed promptly. The concern regarding mastic was the result of a misunderstanding after a revised contract had already incorporated that work into the project scope, and once the contract was reviewed, the matter was immediately resolved. We recognize that major pool renovations are complex projects involving multiple phases and specialized trades. Living through an active construction project can be challenging for homeowners, and we understand that the overall experience did not meet your expectations. While we always strive to make the process as smooth as possible, our focus remained on completing the project, addressing concerns brought to our attention, and delivering a finished pool that you ultimately acknowledged looked "nice" and "great." It is also important to note that during our conversations you repeatedly stated that you liked the color, tile, stone selection, and overall appearance of the completed pool. You acknowledged multiple times that the pool "looks nice" and "looks great." Your primary dissatisfaction was with the renovation process rather than the overall transformation of the pool itself. Regarding the plaster concerns, pebble finishes are hand-applied products, and minor texture variations, trowel marks, and cosmetic irregularities can be normal characteristics of a hand-finished surface. Nevertheless, we took your concerns seriously and offered to have the finish inspected under the manufacturer's Lifetime Limited Warranty. During our conversation, we specifically offered to arrange an inspection and, if a warrantable defect was found, pursue corrective action at no cost to you, including any work required under the manufacturer's warranty. That offer was declined multiple times. We want prospective customers to understand that we did not dismiss your concerns. To the contrary, we offered a path forward to evaluate and correct any plaster-related issues through the manufacturer's warranty process, but you made it clear that you did not wish to pursue that option. We remain proud of the finished pool, stand behind our workmanship, and continue to honor the manufacturer's Lifetime Limited Warranty on the plaster finish. While we regret that the overall experience did not meet your expectations, we appreciate the opportunity to complete your project and wish you and your family many years of enjoyment with your remodeled pool. ? We took the time to get multiple quotes for this project, since we knew this was going to be a major effort. Of the five quotes we received, David was the only one who didn’t lowball us. He got a sense right off the bat that we wanted this done right. Although his quote seemed higher than the others. That was only because the other four quotes were entry level with entry level material. Once David invited us to view and select the materials and, said “ you can pick anything you see”, we knew we made the right choice.

David and his crews did a great job on our existing pool remodel and patio stone overlay. We are very pleased with the final result. David is also a man of word, always taking care of his business.

I was really pleased with the work completed by DFW Pool Experts. David did such a good job addressing my concerns. It was east to get in contact him and I could not be happier. The pool is beautiful and we can swim again!! If I was a better tech person, I would love to put the awesome pictures of my pool online.

This is the second pool we have used David to totally remodel. They replaced plaster, tile coping and the patio deck overlay. Great teams working with him. Professional craftsmen who know what they are doing and do it well.

We’ve worked with numerous contractors over the years who tried to repair cracks in our pool with staples and adhesive, but the leaks always returned. Many others would come to assess the problem and never return. I am so grateful for David Banks and DFW Pool Experts. They tackled the job head-on and stuck with it until the very end. Thanks to their expertise, we now have a beautifully renovated pool that is finally holding water again! I couldn’t be happier with the results and highly recommend their services to anyone in need of reliable, thorough pool, repair, and renovation.
