Trim Trees

I do not recommend this company. The bidder came and took notes on what I wanted in order to bid, but on the day of work he failed to show the crew foreman correctly what I wanted. Bushes were cut that were not to be touched, and that won't grow back for 10 years at least. When they finished, I could not check their work on the adjoining lot, and so could not see that they left a giant piece of the work undone. My Chinese Elm tree was to be trimmed, but looks bedraggled and with dead branches hanging in the air. They left a bush with raw bare trunks high in the air, instead of trimming them down so they couldn't be seen. I had them at least do that, but the rest: what a waste of money. Work quality was rated one star because they showed up on time, that's all.

Trim Trees

We had a very large liquid amber tree in the back yard which was starting to decay due to termite damage. Miguel and his team came in and took down that tree in one day. The guys were very friendly and worked like beavers to get the job done. I will most likely use them again to trim a large tree in the front. Thanks again, Miguel!

Trim Trees

I had 12 large overgrown trees along my retaining wall that needed thinning and some love, a 5 headed palm that needed trimming, and 2 other palms that needed dead fronds removed plus a few other smaller trees that needed shaping. The crew did a fantastic job, cleaned up after and hauled everything away. Will definitely use them again.

I had some limbs of a 60 year old avocado tree that really needed care; one was bleeding and others needed thinning. I can do the work so he didn't charge anything. He did give me an estimate for tree work that might be done later. All in all, I'm very satisfied with this company. The advice didn't really require money and he didn't charge any,. When the time comes to thin out the tree these are the people I will call. He did customer service while he was here.

Criminal Background Check

Who does HomeAdvisor background check?

The owner or principal of each business in HomeAdvisor's network (with the exception of Corporate Accounts) must pass a background check. Unfortunately, we cannot perform a background check on every employee of a business—the background checks are performed only on the owner or principal. As always, we recommend that you conduct your own research on the businesses you hire, including making inquiries directly with the businesses regarding their employee background check policies.

What does the background check cover?

We use a third-party vendor to conduct a criminal records search in the county in which the business owner or principal works. Our third-party vendor uses a national criminal database ("NCD") to screen service professionals. Business owners or principals with felony arrests that carry a pending decision or who are convicted of felonies in the past 7 years ago will not be admitted to the network. Businesses or owners convicted misdemeanors or felonies, or who have dismissed charges or arrests on their records involving rape/incest, sex offenses, or lewd and lascivious behavior at any point in time will not be admitted to our network.

Our background check does not exclude service professionals unless the crime at issue is a felony.

*The comprehensiveness of the NCD varies by state. Please be aware that the reporting in the NCD is particularly limited in the following states: AL, CO, DE, GA, ID, IL, KS, LA, ME, MA, MI, MS, MT, NE, NV, NH, NM, SD, UT, VA, VT, and WY. After initial admission to the HomeAdvisor network, businesses are re-screened if a concern is reported to HomeAdvisor.

Corporate Accounts

Some businesses are employees, franchisees, dealers or independent contractors ("Corporate SP's") of larger national or "Corporate Accounts". When this is the case, we may match you with the Corporate Account or with one of their Corporate businesses. The above screening process does not apply to Corporate Accounts, as HomeAdvisor does not screen Corporate Accounts or Corporate businesses.

Verify Trade License HomeAdvisor checks to see if the business carries the appropriate state-level license. Verify Insurance As a part of our screening process, we encourage professionals to carry general liability insurance. We require coverage for hundreds of services. Verification of State Business Filings For business types that require a Secretary of State filing, we confirm that the business is in good standing in the state in which it is located. Criminal Records Search HomeAdvisor uses 3rd party data sources to conduct a criminal search for any relevant criminal activity associated with the owner/principal of the business. Sex Offender Search We confirm that the owner/principal is not listed on the official state Sex Offender web site in the state in which the owner/principal of the company is located. Bankruptcy Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the history of the principal/owner of the business for bankruptcy filings by or against them. Legal Search for Civil Judgments We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for state level civil legal judgments entered against them. Liens Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for liens placed against them. Identity Verification (SSN) HomeAdvisor verifies the social security number(s) of the owner/principal for identity check purposes. This check applies primarily to smaller business entities. Identity Verification (Reverse Phone Lookup) We conduct a reverse business phone lookup to identify records matching the phone number information provided by the business.
