Write a ReviewArmor Guard Review In August 2023 I had Barry the Field Manager of Armor Guard come to give me an estimate to repaint my 7 ft by 14 ft deck. The price I was quoted was more than double of other estimates with other companies. The reason I chose them was for the warranty. 5 years labor 20 years material and the warranty was transferable if I decided to sell my home. I should have realized at the time that the warranty was too good to be true. They were supposed to send a crew to pressure wash, fill all cracks and holes, sand, apply primer, and apply two coats of Sherwin-Williams Super Deck paint and sealer. Little did I know at the time the warranty by Armor Guard was a ploy. They sent one man a subcontractor to do all the work himself. I am retired and was able to be here to monitor each day with step by step photos that I took. First the man who came was told only to power wash and paint. This was my first interaction with Rodney the President of Armor Guard. Rodney was not helpful and was argumentative. He then agreed to prepare and paint my deck as was written in our contract. My deck was then primed and painted in the rain. The man who did all the work was being pushed to get it done quickly. As a result one week later I could see spots of primer and bare wood showing through the paint. Again I called Rodney and he told me that it was bird droppings and they left the paint so I should just paint it myself. He did send his subcontractors to look at it and they agreed that it did have many areas showing primer and wood. He agreed to have them come back to apply a third coat. They did. In April 2024, 8 months after the original painting it was showing primer and bare wood through the paint again. I contacted Rodney again he was rude. He did agree to have subcontractors come on June 8th to pressure wash the deck and then they would return on June 10th to repaint the entire deck. On June 8th two men from { removed company name } showed up at 8:00 a.m. One of the men said that they would pressure wash and touch up but not paint the entire deck as Rodney had promised. He said that Rodney had only paid him $300 and told him to pressure wash and touch up. At that time I told them to just pressure wash and I would take this up with Rodney. They left my furniture in my driveway they left my hose on the ground with the nozzle off. They did not do a good job. They were only here about 15 minutes total. Rodney has not made an attempt to come to look at the work himself or do a final inspection. I have caught Rodney in lies and have gone through continued stress and anguish because of this. I have two photo albums on my phone with day by day pictures of the work from the beginning until now. I also have screenshots saved of every text message between Rodney and myself since August of 2023. He texts instead of phone calls and actually in this case it turned out to my advantage. Rodney then offered to come and have the men paint the entire deck but he also added it would be the last time. That to me means he was not going to honor his 5-year warranty. At that point I made the decision not to respond. I no longer want anymore to do with Rodney or Armor Guard. He made a statement that my deck was dirty and that's why I was having issues. He is a narcissistic liar and impossible to do business with. My complaint and his responses are on the BBB website. I am considering contacting a reporter since I have so much to show as far as photos and screenshots of our text messages from the beginning. I think it's important to show other people what happened to me so that they don't fall for this sham.
Great work!
Appreciate your business. It was a pleasure making your home look beautiful.
5 Star Rating from Start to Finish. Job entailed extensive work in removing and replacing T11 Type siding and a variety of Exterior Trim prior to the complete 2 Story Paint Job. Jorge and his Team tackled the project without hesitation and completed the job on schedule as Contracted. Upon completion, a final inspection was requested by Jorge to ensure my satisfaction in the work completed. Final results, " Job Well Done'". I highly recommend Armor Guard for all your Painting Needs.

Our house looks beautiful! Darren and Suzie worked great as a team. They clicked. The work was professional of course, cleaned up perfectly. Darren takes pride in his work and takes ownership. Rodney and Debbie stepped in as needed. We will hire them for the interior when we are ready.

1. The estimator who came to the house said that at the end, the owner, Rodney would come by to do a walk-through. He never showed up and after the job was started, never heard from him again. 2. The paint crew was a husband and wife, probably late 40s who spoke very little English. It was a daily challenge for them to understand what we were asking. 3. Every morning my wife and I would need to point out areas they missed or allowed paint to flow onto other areas. 4. They would sometimes move from one area to another without finishing that room. Example: after painting the living/dining room (walls and ceiling) and getting pain all over the crown molding which they painted the day before, they started on the laundry/garage entry hallway. We had to ask them to repaint the crown molding so we could move the furniture back in place. 5. Several times we had to remind them to also paint both sides of the doors. Why they would not do it at the same time...I do not know. 6. They did work very hard and were polite and courteous. We absolutely had no problem with their work ethic. They were supposed to caulk areas that needed it. They did not until we pushed them to do it. Holes in the wall were supposed to be speckled, repaired, and painted. They were only painted over. I re-did them myself and will paint them.. 7. My office was the last and they blew thru it like a tornado. In many areas where the wall & ceiling meet, you can see old blue paint anywhere from 1/4 to 1/2 inch wide. 8. When they finished and packed up the wife was going around the house using a measuring wheel. When asked why she said they are contracts and get paid by square footage. Then she said all look ok...I need to check for the balance. My wife and I are now going to the touch-up areas that should have been done. The owner may dispute this but I showed his estimator the other proposal. There was only a $10 difference. It was very formal, well written, and bullet-pointed everything they would do. They asked for no money upfront (Armor Guard asked for $2000) and stated in writing that no money is due until a walkthrough is completed with the owner and we are totally satisfied. Well that is all Archie J., Palm Harbor
I am sorry to hear about some of these things. I have a policy that has been in place since day one. "you are the inspector" on the job and no money is paid until you are happy. I rarely need to visit jobs for this reason. I never heard from you once during my job about any of this. My crew will work very hard to make you happy. Thanks again for your business. I want to add that Mr. Jennings is happy and he rehired us on 1-5-23 to seal his pavers.
Short notice request for a Commercial project and was on a serious time crunch. Armor Guard came and saved the day. A+quality, timely and efficient as well as friendly. Will HIGHLY RECOMMEND
