Write a ReviewThe mosquito control was not effective AND the technician damaged lights on my porch by knocking them down. I'm in my 80's and he left them for me to pick up. They automatically renewed my "contract" and gave me a hard time when trying to cancel. They are very aggressive and unprofessional.
I signed up with Alta Pest Control this spring hoping to have a mosquito- and spider-free summer. Unfortunately that did not happen. Problems: ? Despite multiple treatments for mosquitoes, I still had heavy mosquito activity all summer. I ended up switching to another company (Mosquito Joe) in September and they cleared the mosquitoes on their first spray. ? I also paid for interior spider treatments, yet kept seeing spiders regularly. ? When I signed up the salesperson knocked on my door and presented a ?special? offer. There was no clear mention of any cancellation fee or requirement to stay for a set term. Later I was told there was a large discount applied that would become a balance if I cancelled. ? Scheduling a service is difficult: there?s no online portal to request visits or track your service ? you have to call. That feels outdated. Bottom line: I did not feel I got what was promised. I would caution others to read the contract carefully, ask about cancellation/termi
Alta charged me $500 for ONE treatment and their sales guy misled me. I hope this saves you some money. Here is what the salesman intentionally misled me about: - He said I would get monthly treatments. - He said I could skip when I needed to. They refused to let me skip September's payment because THEY PROVIDE QUARTERLY TREATMENT BUT BREAK IT DOWN INTO MONTHLY PAYMENTS. So if you "skip" you aren't really skipping anything! You still pay monthly! BUT THEY DO NOT PROVIDE GENERAL PEST CONTROL TREATMENTS MONTHLY!! The salesman sold it as a monthly pest control service. He literally told me they treat every month and that mosquito fogging is included. IT IS NOT. The mosquito fogging is free and you can defer it. BUT YOU CANNOT DEFER YOUR MONTHLY PAYMENTS BECAUSE THEY DO NOT PROVIDE MONTHLY GENERAL PEST CONTROL. Long story short, I paid $200 for the first treatment and $300 to cancel. So I paid $500 for one treatment. I canceled because I don't trust them.
After first treatment noticed no reduction in insects. The second treatment was during an absolute downpour. The one picture the tech attached of the treatment was him sitting in the car taking a picture of my house in the middle of a rainstorm. The wasp nest and ants did not go away again. Surprise. I left a bad review of the tech and asked when they would come back in fix it. Finally, after 2 weeks I called and cancelled. It took 15 mins to try to cancel. They then sent me a bill for $240 for early cancellation saying I broke the contract deal. I say they broke the contract deal by not getting rid of the pest I hired them to take care of.
