Remodel a Bathroom

Action Construction is a great company. Ron Seamon was a great help. I was looking to remodel my bathroom in my home in short notice, I called Ron, he came over and did a quick estimate. The contractors who work for him are really friendly. They were able to install a new shower, new floor tiles and new plumbing in short notice. I also contracted them to upgrade my electrical system in my home, they were able to redo all the wiring and make it more efficient. I also refloored new carpeting and new doors, they made it all easy and affordable. Recommend 100% for contracting in the Minot, ND area!

Remodel a Kitchen

Hired to remove older style countertops that required some bit of care as to not damage existing cabinets and wall sheetrock. Installed new dishwasher, sink, faucet, and performed finishing work once new countertops were installed. Great service and reasonable pricing. Very helpful with all aspects of the process/project and representatives exhibited a great amount of professionalism. Would recommend Action Construction for any project both big and small.

After searching for someone to install a tricky door for several months, within two hours of contacting Action Construction through Home Advisor, I'd had a phone call, a home visit, a reasonable quote, and a scheduled work date. The door was installed today and I am very happy with it.

Remodel a Basement

Some problems with the carpet including a small chunk missing from the stairs but it was a difficult install job. Drywall was not perfect but overall good job. Paint also had some small areas that were not perfect and there is paint that needs to be cleared off of the window frames. After I send in the 10% rebates for the hardware store then we will make the budget estimate I was given. Overall, I am happy with this company.

Criminal Background Check

Who does HomeAdvisor background check?

The owner or principal of each business in HomeAdvisor's network (with the exception of Corporate Accounts) must pass a background check. Unfortunately, we cannot perform a background check on every employee of a business—the background checks are performed only on the owner or principal. As always, we recommend that you conduct your own research on the businesses you hire, including making inquiries directly with the businesses regarding their employee background check policies.

What does the background check cover?

We use a third-party vendor to conduct a criminal records search in the county in which the business owner or principal works. Our third-party vendor uses a national criminal database ("NCD") to screen service professionals. Business owners or principals with felony arrests that carry a pending decision or who are convicted of felonies in the past 7 years ago will not be admitted to the network. Businesses or owners convicted misdemeanors or felonies, or who have dismissed charges or arrests on their records involving rape/incest, sex offenses, or lewd and lascivious behavior at any point in time will not be admitted to our network.

Our background check does not exclude service professionals unless the crime at issue is a felony.

*The comprehensiveness of the NCD varies by state. Please be aware that the reporting in the NCD is particularly limited in the following states: AL, CO, DE, GA, ID, IL, KS, LA, ME, MA, MI, MS, MT, NE, NV, NH, NM, SD, UT, VA, VT, and WY. After initial admission to the HomeAdvisor network, businesses are re-screened if a concern is reported to HomeAdvisor.

Corporate Accounts

Some businesses are employees, franchisees, dealers or independent contractors ("Corporate SP's") of larger national or "Corporate Accounts". When this is the case, we may match you with the Corporate Account or with one of their Corporate businesses. The above screening process does not apply to Corporate Accounts, as HomeAdvisor does not screen Corporate Accounts or Corporate businesses.

Verify Trade License HomeAdvisor checks to see if the business carries the appropriate state-level license. Verify Insurance As a part of our screening process, we encourage professionals to carry general liability insurance. We require coverage for hundreds of services. Verification of State Business Filings For business types that require a Secretary of State filing, we confirm that the business is in good standing in the state in which it is located. Criminal Records Search HomeAdvisor uses 3rd party data sources to conduct a criminal search for any relevant criminal activity associated with the owner/principal of the business. Sex Offender Search We confirm that the owner/principal is not listed on the official state Sex Offender web site in the state in which the owner/principal of the company is located. Bankruptcy Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the history of the principal/owner of the business for bankruptcy filings by or against them. Legal Search for Civil Judgments We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for state level civil legal judgments entered against them. Liens Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for liens placed against them. Identity Verification (SSN) HomeAdvisor verifies the social security number(s) of the owner/principal for identity check purposes. This check applies primarily to smaller business entities. Identity Verification (Reverse Phone Lookup) We conduct a reverse business phone lookup to identify records matching the phone number information provided by the business.
