Reviews
Write a ReviewThey got the job done well, within a couple of days of getting the estimate and at a fair price.
Alex and David did a great job finishing out the basement. They showed up timely and knocked out the work in the timeframe they specified before the work started. Left the basement clean as they hired a cleaning person to take away any of the excess and dust. Reasonable and fair price.
They went above the call of duty. All the workers were professional, friendly and efficient. I wouldn't hesitate and will be using them again for future home projects. I love my new bathroom. Our house is one hundred years old. They also removed the old pipes and redid all the plumbing.
Work was done efficiently. And on time. Very nice people.
New Step Construction was hired to fix drywall, extensive trim work, interior and exterior painting, deck staining, repair and paint detached garage, install new light fixtures, and repair and paint plaster ceilings. Initial consult was professional and included a contract with licensing and insurance information. I followed up with detailed emails with exact paint colors and stain colors and detailed explanations. During the first 1.5 weeks the workers showed up on time and were diligent. However, seemed to have lack of direction and werenâ t receiving the requests I made exactlyâ ¦. Some work had to be redone because incorrect paint colors were used (not what was in my emails), etc. They frequently started new portions of the job leaving areas unfinished (eg started outside garage demo before interior was complete then let garage sit demoed while they moved to deck staining, then started painting exterior, while inside was randomly being painted but never quite finished). All jobs were left about 97% complete at the end and our backyard was somewhat picked up but had to hire a company to finish cleanup afterwards. Their cleaning person came with a dirty mop and dirty rags and used the same ones to wash dishes. I hired a professional company to do a full clean up. I finally said stop because as time went on we were being told theyâ d show early and ended up waiting until mid to late afternoon before anyone showed. Iâ m not fully unhappy with their work, the ceilings were done well and the trim and garage look good. However, based on a few questionable instances, Iâ ve scheduled an electrician to verify all the electric work and redo the bathroom fixtures. I will be finishing the deck staining because some lattice was missed. Iâ ll be finishing the interior painting because it wasnâ t all completed. Iâ ll be redoing stain upstairs because the wrong color was used (color used was from an old rusted container that said it was a paint/primer that was probably something they had on hand and it doesnâ t match the color or type requested - supposed to be a poly stain). If you just need plaster ceilings redone, trim work, and floor refinishing, Iâ d say theyâ re pretty good and ok to hire. If the jobs are bigger and include electrical, Iâ d say maybeâ ¦..but lower expectations a little and donâ t expect them to be timely or in a rush to finish as the days go on.
