Repair a Garage Door

We hired A1 for problems with the garage closing completely. I knew there might be some age related problems with a 16 yr old garage. The tech saw that the coil was broken which is a major safety problem. Replaced it along with some other suggested parts. It cost me more than I wanted but I rather that than some getting seriously hurt. We were satisfied and will hire them to finish updating the rest of the unit.

Last two months I purchased expensive new garage door system. The system does not function. Called for warranty repair. They brag about 24/7 service.They said that they could not repair for 4 days. I am eighty years old.Leaving I have to go out in rain, run through garage , hit hard wire open/close.Run out the front door.All I Florida rain storms.Coming home I need to reverse these steps. All in Florida rainstorms Oh yeah they will charge $70.00 dollars for the ?techs time? to come to my home.I am under warranty. What about my time. David Lee

Mr. Galue-Rodriguez repaired the door. He replaced multiple parts of the door so that the door operates correctly. One of the lift springs had broken and damaged other parts of the door. He had all the necessary parts to do a complete repair. Will use him again if it is necessary.

Repair a Garage Door

Scammers. My girlfriend was working at home and the guy quoted her for a full garage replacement when it just needed a new torsion spring. She was quoted for the full system replacement and did not receive that, but they charged the full $2200 and tried to itemize the difference with parts marked up 1000% and $500/hr labor. Guy was creepy and took advantage of the situation. I called to try to sort it out and never got a call back after three attempts. I would avoid this business.

BUYER BEWARE. We just had a frustrating experience with them. They sold us on a $29.95 service call which turned out to be A disguised way to upsell more services over $1,500. When we called their management team three times to talk with her manager, they ghosted us and never returned her calls. I would never do business with this company again.

Criminal Background Check

Who does HomeAdvisor background check?

The owner or principal of each business in HomeAdvisor's network (with the exception of Corporate Accounts) must pass a background check. Unfortunately, we cannot perform a background check on every employee of a business—the background checks are performed only on the owner or principal. As always, we recommend that you conduct your own research on the businesses you hire, including making inquiries directly with the businesses regarding their employee background check policies.

What does the background check cover?

We use a third-party vendor to conduct a criminal records search in the county in which the business owner or principal works. Our third-party vendor uses a national criminal database ("NCD") to screen service professionals. Business owners or principals with felony arrests that carry a pending decision or who are convicted of felonies in the past 7 years ago will not be admitted to the network. Businesses or owners convicted misdemeanors or felonies, or who have dismissed charges or arrests on their records involving rape/incest, sex offenses, or lewd and lascivious behavior at any point in time will not be admitted to our network.

Our background check does not exclude service professionals unless the crime at issue is a felony.

*The comprehensiveness of the NCD varies by state. Please be aware that the reporting in the NCD is particularly limited in the following states: AL, CO, DE, GA, ID, IL, KS, LA, ME, MA, MI, MS, MT, NE, NV, NH, NM, SD, UT, VA, VT, and WY. After initial admission to the HomeAdvisor network, businesses are re-screened if a concern is reported to HomeAdvisor.

Corporate Accounts

Some businesses are employees, franchisees, dealers or independent contractors ("Corporate SP's") of larger national or "Corporate Accounts". When this is the case, we may match you with the Corporate Account or with one of their Corporate businesses. The above screening process does not apply to Corporate Accounts, as HomeAdvisor does not screen Corporate Accounts or Corporate businesses.

Verify Trade License HomeAdvisor checks to see if the business carries the appropriate state-level license. Verify Insurance As a part of our screening process, we encourage professionals to carry general liability insurance. We require coverage for hundreds of services. Verification of State Business Filings For business types that require a Secretary of State filing, we confirm that the business is in good standing in the state in which it is located. Criminal Records Search HomeAdvisor uses 3rd party data sources to conduct a criminal search for any relevant criminal activity associated with the owner/principal of the business. Sex Offender Search We confirm that the owner/principal is not listed on the official state Sex Offender web site in the state in which the owner/principal of the company is located. Bankruptcy Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the history of the principal/owner of the business for bankruptcy filings by or against them. Legal Search for Civil Judgments We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for state level civil legal judgments entered against them. Liens Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for liens placed against them. Identity Verification (SSN) HomeAdvisor verifies the social security number(s) of the owner/principal for identity check purposes. This check applies primarily to smaller business entities. Identity Verification (Reverse Phone Lookup) We conduct a reverse business phone lookup to identify records matching the phone number information provided by the business.
