I wouldn’t hesitate to use Val’s again if I needed their assistance.

I'm perturbed... your guys did all the rough in work and then you send me an estimate for another $5k+ to have them return to do the finish work. As a general contractor and an interior designer with 20+ years experience I don't see how it would take another 20 man hours at a minimum of $125/hr per person (industry rate for journeyman wages) to warrant another $5k for installing a tub, toilet, shower panel and 2 faucets that they did all the set up for. I don't appreciate the fact that now I'll have to get someone else who didn't do the rough in work to come and finish what they started and hope they don't find any issues since you've been paid in full. Totally unprofessional to ghost me while trying to negotiate there may have been a misunderstanding about the finishing amount.
