"J&J Electric Company goes over and above for the customer satisfaction for service and quality of work. They also pay attention to detail and explain everything to you throughout the process of the job from beginning to end. They are punctual and also call ahead before arriving. They are also considerate of your home or business when doing the job, when the job is done the work area is clean and the way it was when they arrived. If there are any issues they may cross when working, they explain the issues and also explain how to fix it properly. They are safe workers and communicate when cutting off power and how long it will be off. We are remodeling a farm house we are the 3rd owners built in the 1800 and J & J are rewiring the whole house. This involves a lot of time tracing the current wiring and bringing the house up to code. We are doing it in stages due to also remodeling rooms and we keep them informed of the progress so we can schedule them when needed. I would highly recommend J & J Electric to my family and friends for professional and quality work."

Re-wiring, Interior/exterior lighting, Bucket Truck Service , and 2 more
"I got a prompt return phone call and set up a time/date for an estimate. I had several small jobs (install fixtures, outlets, and a repair) as well as the installation of landscape lighting. The work was scheduled for later that week and the electrician came on time. The landscape lighting was a fairly large job and was completed in two days. The other small jobs were done as well. I'm very pleased with the quality of the work. Everything was done perfectly, in an amazingly short time from first inquiry to completion. I own a number of rental properties and will call Prodigy for work on my apartment buildings."

Electrical Services, EV Chargers, Troubleshooting , and 3 more
"We bought a house that still had knob and tube wiring. Interviewed several electricians (some had no interest in even giving us a price). BabyBird Electric did a preliminary non-invasive investigation to uncover the extent of knob and tube wiring before settling on a price. We also had BabyBird do a few electrical upgrades (adding receptacles, adding power for a disposal). Their work was neat and workmanlike, they cleaned up at the end of each day, and I felt like we got a fair price for their services. I am an EE who designs both commercial and residential electrical systems for construction and have lots of experience interacting with electrical contractors. The owner and employees of BabyBird were knowledgeable, personable, and represented their business well."

"We just want to say thank you for the beyond amazing service that we received from office staff and even more the gentleman that installed our new water softener system with reverse osmosis, uv light and a tankless hot water heater . Mike and Forest where amazing, knowledgeable and kind. Mike helped move some things around in the basement because I didnâ t have it done in time. They are a great team and work really well with each other. We had made them sweet Italian sausage for lunch. We noticed a water leak after they left l. Mike was so amazing and drove from Albany to fix it for us on his way home for the night. I had some chili cooking and gave him some. Mike even cleaned the water of the basement floor. Way more above and beyond than he needed too. Truly amazing. My family would like to say that Mike and Forest are a rare kind of people who just care and will go above and beyond for the people they help to have a better quality of life. We had moved in to take care of our nanny and her water system was no longer working and a week before the install the hot water heater went after 30 years. We recently updated appliances and we needed to protect our investment from the hard water. We absolutely love the reverse osmosis and are drinking the water so much we run out of drinking water lol. We will eventually upgrade to a dual holding tank for drinking water. For now we can make due with what we have. We were spending about $150 sometimes more in water a month for cooking and drinking purposes now we will see the savings in roughly 6 years just for not buying water anymore. With the tankless hot water heater it is too soon to see the savings yet we have a propane system living in the country and we are trying to reduce electric consumption. Gas is cheaper than electric for the usage we have we estimate that we will save around $80 additionally per month with the tankless hot water system. With that added into the equation we estimate about 4.5 years and we will have our return on our initial investment. Our next project will be a generator from this company. We lose electricity a few times a year and with nannyâ s health itâ s not acceptable in todayâ s society. Again thank you Mike and Forest the office ladyâ s weâ re very helpful on this process with us as well."

"I was overwhelmed by the response ServiceMagic was able to provide. By 8:30 the next morning, ALL three companies ServiceMagic recommended called me!!! All three companies quoted me competition service rates to fix my furnace and one (Arendosh) worked with me around MY work hours. The Technician was knowledgeable, professional, efficient and used name brand replacement parts. Compared to the success I was having trying to call around to furnace repair companies on my own, this experience was not only pleasurable, it was AMAZING."

Electricians do a fair amount of larger remodeling and new construction projects but also common residential projects including:
For cost information related to the above tasks, visit our Electrical Cost Guide.
A truly skilled, well-equipped professional with a truck full of parts that charges $100 an hour can be a much wiser choice than an inexperienced hack, working with inadequate tools and no parts, but charging much less. Often, more experienced professionals get the job done quickly with warrantied work.
2. Compare Travel ChargesRates reflect travel times. Travel charges can have a big impact on your costs and are in some ways easier to compare than hourly rates. Many electricians spend a third or more of their time navigating traffic on their way to a jobsite. Every contractor must find a way to pay for the expense of driving each day.
3. Bundle Repair Jobs TogetherWhen you feel it’s time to call a pro, review your list and then conduct a mini-inspection of your home. Look for faulty switches and dysfunctional or crowded outlets. When the electrician comes, you’ll save money and time by getting everything taken care of at once.
4. How to Prepare & What to Know Before the Electrician ArrivesMcdonald Electricians are rated 4.8 out of 5 based on 959 reviews of 959 pros.
