"Cortez A1 Remodeling completed a front hall coat closet renovation for me that involved stripping wallpaper, removing stipple from the closet ceiling and sanding, priming, and painting, replacing an MDF shelf with red oak and mitre cutting PVC baseboards for the closet. Francisco and his dad, a master carpenter, also took care of the fine details for a staircase remodel, adding end pieces for unfinished edges. Cortez A1 Remodeling was on time, communicated well, and competent. I have other house projects requiring plumbing and electrical work. Since this company did an excellent job on these initial projects, I hope to have them as my “go to” resource for future projects."

"Awesome, awesome, awesome! Rob and his team(Brian and Trevor) completed my bathroom makeover in a timely manner. I feared starting a construction project, but they made it a smooth process. The design was impeccable and extremely cost efficient for all that was done. It meant so much to me to see the joy on my husband and daughter’s faces. You cannot go wrong with this company."

"They were so incredibly kind and helpful and we were impressed with their expertise and ability to problem-solve! The job we presented them with was NOT an easy one, and Kevin got creative in order to remove some old plumbing fixtures in order to connect our new washer and stack the dryer. Theyve continued to help us problem solve the electrical connection and even agreed to come back to assist us with changing the power cord and dryer vent routing! To top it all off, they were nice to our dogs! We highly recommend them and feel lucky to have found this resource."

"I'm not joshing you, but Josh Powers was great. We had a ton of questions and he answered them in a fast manner. Great work, high-quality and no complaints. He was patient when I drove back to get him assistance on his end on a Friday afternoon. I'd recommend him to anyone in Central Ohio for handyman duties, electrical, carpenter work, and, especially painting. He did a great job with painting three rooms and a kitchen--everything is top-notch!"

HomeAdvisor makes it easy to connect with pros near you. You can read reviews, get quotes and book appointments all in one place.
Depending on the type of project, you may find subtle differences in the hiring process. Here’s a look at task-specific advice.
You can use HomeAdvisor to help evaluate a contractor’s qualifications. We put pros through a screening process, and award badges to high-performing contractors. You can find these badges on a pro’s HomeAdvisor profile, and sometimes, his or her website.
Your research doesn’t stop here. Once you’ve found a few prospective companies, make an call to ask a few questions about work history, licensure and more:
In most cases, the responses you get to these three questions will give you a very good idea of the right pro for your project. If you have more than one front-runner, these additional questions can help you narrow it down.
Any good contractor will answer these questions, and most will appreciate dealing with a client that takes such an active interest in finding good service. On the other hand, if a contractor gives you a hard time with these questions, you probably want to find someone else.
