"Contracted Heath for a major basement remodel in a multi-generational home which was completed in 6 months despite COVID-19 restrictions and shipping delays of material and fixtures. Heath was able to follow my floor plan to renovate an awkwardly finished basement with structural limitations and turn it into a quasi apartment that met building codes. The renovation includes cork flooring throughout, an ADA compliant 1 bedroom en suite with heated tiled flooring, curbless tiled shower and toilet/bidet both with grab bars; a tiled 1/2 bath - laundry with toilet/bidet; open living room/dining room/kitchen multi-use space with a Heath designed table top that folds away into an IKEA cabinet; an office with a storage loft; and a gym with an attached deck. All construction was completed without COVID-19 contraction, cost overages and overly prolonged delays. Heath has a lot of construction experience and savvy; he is meticulous to detail, and used these qualities to improve my design goals to create a living space that would accommodate our physical needs as we age. In my professional life, I have had to hire general contractors for major construction projects. Heath has been the most honest, detailed general contractor I have ever hired. He used workers and subs that performed at his high standard and he personally made sure their job was done right and timely. He maintained communication with me throughout the project and all revision decisions were made mutually while staying within budget. Should there be a need to hire a general contractor again, we will hire Heath but we expect that he will be in high demand and we may have to get in line."

Dry Rot - Repair/Renovations, Additions and Remodel, Siding - repair/replace/install
"Ryan and his crew provided exemplary service to us - I would give a rating of 10 stars if I could. We sought assistance to repair damage from a water leak as we prepped to have new carpet installed. It felt like other businesses saw our misfortune as opportunity, but from the beginning it was very clear that Ryan's focus was solving our problem - in the most thorough and expeditious way possible. I appreciated their clear communication and attention to detail. My house is solid, and the finish is beautiful. I would not hesitate to call them again for any future work. They are trustworthy. In fact, I am wondering if there are other projects I have put off..."

"After interviewing several contractors for our kitchen and bathroom remodel, my husband and I felt immediately at ease with Matt. His professionalism and integrity shine through the moment you meet him. We initially bid out a modest bathroom and kitchen facelift in an old 1900's farmhouse. With his insight and resources, we were able to completely remodel both in addition to updates throughout the rest of our home (refinished hardwoods, paint, carpet, etc.). We had an aggressive timeline and he delivered on time and kept within our budget (aside from our requested change orders). Matt and his team of subcontractors surpassed our expectations and were lovely to work with. Matt was always available (never missed our calls) and patient with us throughout all the phases of our remodel. All whilst navigating effortlessly through the various COVID restrictions. We also had the pleasure of working with his lovely wife, Jacqui, who guided us through all the design elements. She made the overwhelming task of choosing paint, fixtures, faucets, tile, flooring etc., fun and fluid. She even showed up as we moved into our home equipped with homemade soup for lunch and helped us unpack! We are so grateful for the opportunity to work with Ziebart Construction and highly recommend them! We will be working with them again on future projects."

HomeAdvisor makes it easy to connect with pros near you. You can read reviews, get quotes and book appointments all in one place.
Depending on the type of project, you may find subtle differences in the hiring process. Here’s a look at task-specific advice.
You can use HomeAdvisor to help evaluate a contractor’s qualifications. We put pros through a screening process, and award badges to high-performing contractors. You can find these badges on a pro’s HomeAdvisor profile, and sometimes, his or her website.
Your research doesn’t stop here. Once you’ve found a few prospective companies, make an call to ask a few questions about work history, licensure and more:
In most cases, the responses you get to these three questions will give you a very good idea of the right pro for your project. If you have more than one front-runner, these additional questions can help you narrow it down.
Any good contractor will answer these questions, and most will appreciate dealing with a client that takes such an active interest in finding good service. On the other hand, if a contractor gives you a hard time with these questions, you probably want to find someone else.
Hillsboro Addition & Remodeling Contractors are rated 4.9 out of 5 based on 107 reviews of 107 pros.
