"I wish I could give Highland a 6 --- Best folks I have ever worked with -- ever, of any type. I will never again use anyone other than Highland for anything related to my house. Smart, cooperative, interesting, talented artists. With great subcontractors -- and all working as a team. I would be happy to speak with anyone who is considering Highland."

"D&R Improvements did a beautiful job on my bathrooms. David, the owner, was quick to give me an estimate and always responded to my e-mails the same day I sent them, even if it was on a weekend. He scheduled the tile installlation on a Friday and had a plumber come out on a Sunday to reinstall the toilets so that we wouldn't have to spend any extra time without them. Everyone who did work on the house was very professional and nice. They even worked with my three child gates rather than make me take them down. All of this at a very reasonable price. I love my remodeled bathrooms and I highly recommend D&R Improvements!"

"I hired these guys from Pluto Remodeling to install new flooring in my basement but I wasn't sure what type of flooring I should do and they gave me ideas on how it would look best and now my basement looks better than I could have imagined. I 100% recommend these charismatic and hard-working young men."

Design and Build Remodeling Company
"Out of the three companies who I had visit my rowhome for an estimate, Remodel Max was the only company who could promise to put the bathroom where I wanted it along with my other wishes. In fact, the other two companies said that the bathroom couldn't be placed in the location that I desired it to be. In addition, Remodel Max moved my water and gas pipes to allow me one less bulkhead for much needed extra room. The management and workers are friendly, work hard, and do quality work. I highly recommend Remodel Max, LLC."

HomeAdvisor makes it easy to connect with pros near you. You can read reviews, get quotes and book appointments all in one place.
Depending on the type of project, you may find subtle differences in the hiring process. Here’s a look at task-specific advice.
You can use HomeAdvisor to help evaluate a contractor’s qualifications. We put pros through a screening process, and award badges to high-performing contractors. You can find these badges on a pro’s HomeAdvisor profile, and sometimes, his or her website.
Your research doesn’t stop here. Once you’ve found a few prospective companies, make an call to ask a few questions about work history, licensure and more:
In most cases, the responses you get to these three questions will give you a very good idea of the right pro for your project. If you have more than one front-runner, these additional questions can help you narrow it down.
Any good contractor will answer these questions, and most will appreciate dealing with a client that takes such an active interest in finding good service. On the other hand, if a contractor gives you a hard time with these questions, you probably want to find someone else.
