"The whole experience with Daniel and Scott began with going to the tile and cabinet store. They helped me pick out everything and they made sure to stay within our budget. We gave them a timeframe to finish the work and they finished even before the timeframe. Daniel and his crew were very respectful of our home and they showed up on time and worked very long hours. They cleaned up after themselves every time they worked. They went above and beyond with extra work and they still finished ahead of schedule. Daniel and his crew were very professional, polite, and courteous. Their work was top notch. We would definitely use them again and we highly recommend them for any job."

We got multiple offers and they were the best, by far. The workers were the best with whom weve worked! They were so very efficient and finished the project in three days from studs to molding. WORKING OWNER PRESENT ON ALL JOBS!!!, We are at Loudoun County’s original basement finishing specialist electricians plumbers all in house no subcontractors, New finished basement. Loudoun County’s original basement finishing specialist !!
"Gibb Development is hands down the best contractor I have ever worked with. Barry, the owner is amazing at what he does. He's done well over 2500 basements in Loudoun. He's been doing this so long that the inspectors turn to him for advice and know him by name. And here's the thing. He's at the point of his career where this is basically a hobby for him to keep busy. What does that mean to you. You have someone doing their job, that LOVES their job. They don't compromise on quality. And won't accept an employee that doesn't see it the same way. It's a do it right, or don't do it mentality. No shortcuts. Also, he knows what adds value to your home and what doesn't. And he'll tell you so. You may want to do something. And he'll do it. But he'll also tell you that you're wasting your money. He knows what will show up in your appraisal and what won't. And what adds value and what doesn't Here's another thing. He's not going to ask you your budget. Why? It isn't relevant. He'll tell you the price it's going to cost for what you want done. Huge difference. How many contractors ask your budget up front and then try to cut corners or hit you with some hidden cost half way through? Not Gibb Development. You want this done, this is what it costs. We screw something up in the middle, that's on us, not you. What you can afford should have nothing to do with what it costs to get done. And he's efficient. My job from start to finish. About 900 sq foot basement including a full bath took 4 weeks with inspections. Which is another red flag. Never hire a contractor that either says you don't need inspections or wants you to pull the permits. Last and maybe most important, Barry the owner is human. He loves to talk and seems to genuine enjoy meeting new people. He respects all people and all views. He has his own, but he loves to hear what you have to say about anything and isn't judgmental. Very rare indeed. And I didn't even know this guy a couple months ago. Now he seems like an old friend. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!"

HomeAdvisor makes it easy to connect with pros near you. You can read reviews, get quotes and book appointments all in one place.
Depending on the type of project, you may find subtle differences in the hiring process. Here’s a look at task-specific advice.
You can use HomeAdvisor to help evaluate a contractor’s qualifications. We put pros through a screening process, and award badges to high-performing contractors. You can find these badges on a pro’s HomeAdvisor profile, and sometimes, his or her website.
Your research doesn’t stop here. Once you’ve found a few prospective companies, make an call to ask a few questions about work history, licensure and more:
In most cases, the responses you get to these three questions will give you a very good idea of the right pro for your project. If you have more than one front-runner, these additional questions can help you narrow it down.
Any good contractor will answer these questions, and most will appreciate dealing with a client that takes such an active interest in finding good service. On the other hand, if a contractor gives you a hard time with these questions, you probably want to find someone else.
Ashburn Addition & Remodeling Contractors are rated 4.9 out of 5 based on 298 reviews of 298 pros.
