Ellis Irrigation

Unfortunately this customer had limited verbal skills in English and did not understand enough about an irrigation system to know the items that needed to be performed to get his system operational. He had a 7 ft fence built inside of his irrigation system so that many of the lines and heads were outside the large backyard. Multiple posts hit irrigation lines as well. He told us that we were just to move about 7 heads a few feet back to the other side of the new fence - no mention of them having destroyed multiple lines as well. We discovered the amount of work was easily 5 times the amount he had described, which we only partially charged him for. However, he was upset that the original quote was not the same as the end of the project. We powered through into the night in a rainstorm and came back twice on our dime to satisfy the client. Beware of clients who do not understand the scope at the outset. This pains me to have a client dissatisfied, but this was clearly a no-win situation for us. For him, he got an excellent outcome within a few days for about 1/2 the cost he should have been charged.
