He came out and figured up the materials needed and we negotiate a price. I left him a check because I was not going to be available later and didn't want him to wait on payment. He called later that day and said he underestimated the crack filler and it could cost me an additional 500 dollars ( keep in mind his bid was 600 dollars, so almost double). I told him to just finish sealing black top. I went to lowes Sunday ( that is 20 minutes away) and bought 2 gallons of crack filler and a couple plastic puddy knives for 24 dollars and finished the job myself. I'm 65 years old and have a knee replacement is why I hired him in the first place. My mistake was to leave him a check, I feel that's why he didn't fulfill his contract.

I would like to apologize for the confusion as there must have been some miscommunication, your cracks were not underestimated. We called to inform you upon arrival that there was many more cracks in the asphalt in comparison to what we could see the day we came out and gave you an estimate due to the fact that on the day of the estimate you had pallets, condensers, and other things sitting on top of the asphalt, covering a lot of cracks that we were not aware of. We told you it could be anywhere between $200-$500 to do the remaining cracks that were not estimated we

They were quick. Took about 3 hours to do our driveway including repairing raised areas and putting new asphalt on the whole thing plus the apron. Looks better than I expected.
