George and his team were fantastic. Hired for a full gut and replace on residential bathroom. George is easy to communicate with, shows up on time every day and his workmanship is great!

I hired Upstate to replace my kitchen cabinets, install a new dishwasher (the house did not have one before), and install a new microwave above my oven. George (the owner of the company) removed my old cabinets, and installed everything in only a week. I was impressed with how quickly he got it done. His workmanship is top notch too, so I could not be happier with how beautiful my kitchen looks. The dishwasher and microwave also work flawlessly. The best part is that I did not break the bank for this project. In fact, I was quoted $4k less than I was expecting. I would definitely hire Upstate again, and I would recommend them to anyone looking for someone with quality workmanship that will complete a job quickly and for a very fair price.

We were thrilled with our contractor. He offered us many great ideas,ON TIME! Extremely knowledgeable and took the time to explain things. We had him completely gut the kitchen and install ceiling, walls, electrical, plumbing, floors, kitchen cabinets, countertops and appliances. We were so satisfied with his work that we asked him to move onto our bathroom with a soaker tub. The tiling was beautiful! Then again, we asked if he could gut, insulate and remodel the entrance room to the kitchen, again, beautiful. We finally had to part ways but I can tell you if there are other things to be done in this house( which there are!). We would hire him again! He is a very hard worker who likes to do the job correctly and very easy to talk to. I have hired contractors in the past that would never live up to his standards!

Did a Wonderful Job and in shorter time than expected. Also put in a new walk in closet in spare bedroom!! Here on time and all cleaned up each day.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!! My girlfriend and I hired this company to take out a wall and do an addition to our basement. We hired the company bc my girlfriend was good friends with the owner of the company and did not think we would be screwed so badly. Our contract stated that the company would tear out an existing porch, dig down to below the frost line and pour new footers, then block, the cement floor to be level with the existing floor and then take out a wall, install a beam and then finish the entire 24x20 area. Well, that did not happen. We were lied to and never told that they never even dug down to see that the 5-inch pad was only 6 inches below grade and was negligently inappropriate to try to build an addition on. We noticed that the cement floor was about 2 inches too low and would never have met with the existing floor to be level. The framing could have been in a textbook on how not to do carpentry. Nothing was flush and the top sill plate snapped bc it did not have the support to hold the 2nd story. There is sheetrock upstairs cracked on every wall where they were not even working. Their insurance company already offered to take responsibility and pay for it, but that is pennies compared to the approximately $20,000 we are out of. I am in the process of filing a civil suit to recover the money. We had to tear out the entire project (per code enforcement, an architect, home inspector, and structural engineer) and hire a new company to throw it all in the garbage and start over. We were told that if we provided something on paper from an architect that stated everything had to be torn out and started over that the owner of the company would refund us everything. That did not happen. I have the reports and 100 pictures to prove everything that I am saying. My girlfriend and I have never been scammed or taken advantage of this badly in our lives. Unbelievable that a friend of over 10 years would take on this project that was way over his head. This also put a ton of strain on our relationship bc my girlfriend was in denial that the work was so bad that it had to be torn out and restarted. She did not want to believe that her friend would do that to us and that the only way we could try to get money back was by suing. This was by far the worst experience that we have ever dealt with with a contractor or anyone for that matter. I would not let him work on our house for free after this.

Hired for basement remodel did a great job would hire again

Excellent company, and excellent service all around. George was very personable, and very easy to communicate with. We had a bedroom turned into a full bath, laundry relocated, and new flooring installed. He did exactly what we were looking for, and added some really nice finishing touches. Worked quick, and efficiently, and took care of any issues with the projects very professionally, and attentively. Very affordable as well, as our total price came in under what we were expecting. Will definitely use this company again, and highly recommend him. Thank you!

George is very personable and knowledgeable about all aspects of a renovation.
