I hired Derrick Langva/Uneek Design, Build & Remodel to repair damage to roof and home caused by a hail storm July 2015 and covered by insurance, which included new house roof, 10 window/door wraps, and fascia. Derrick/Uneek agreed to complete all the work items included in the American Family Insurance claim, plus reinstall the ice-melting cables. Uneek sent a team of four Mexican roofers who replaced the house roof in late October 2015. After the roof was completed, Derrick/Uneek refused to complete window/door wraps, and fascia repair and simply removed them from the contract. Uneek's final receipt/billing statement included "remove from contract" by these. I lost roughly $1,000 from the insurance claim payment. Also, the roofers did not reinstall the ice-melting cable. I emailed and called Uneek several times asking to reinstall the ice-melting cables. In February 2016 Uneek had still not reinstalled the ice-melting cable and ice dams formed so I wrote a complaint/review to Home Advisor's. Home Advisor's rejected my complaint/review and said Uneek provided proof of having reinstalled my ice-melting cables. But this was not true and Uneek never reinstalled the ice-melting cables. In Fall 2016, I hired another company to reinstall my ice-melting cables. When the other company came to provide the estimate, he found my ice-melting cables were shorted out, and there was bare wire exposed on the cable. The cable had been plugged in but there were two plug-in adapters used“ one plugged into the other and then plugged into the house outlet. Gary said neither of the plug-in adaptors had a safety shut-off mechanism and with the short in the cable/exposed wire plus leafs in the gutter he said there was a risk for fire. I lost $1,000 and my house could have burned down. I would not recommend Derrick Langva or Uneek Design, Build & Remodel.

After looking into several other contractors and checking reviews, we found Uneek to be the best fit for us. Derrick kept us informed, worked closely on design and built an outstanding front porch deck. I'm very detailed and particular, and am happy to say that the finished product exceeded my expectation.
