The Inspection Guys provide 5-star service at a fair price with packages, payment plans and pay-at-close options available. Quotes are based on square footage, type of home and optional services such as radon testing, sewer scope inspections, water testing, pool & spa inspections and termite reports. Inspections cover roofing, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, structure, foundation, attic, crawlspace, chimney, interior and exterior systems using modern tools including drone, thermal imaging and robotic crawlspace cameras. We also offer Manufactured Home Foundation Engineer Certifications for FHA, VA and USDA loans. Surprises are great for birthday parties, not when buying a home.

How do you schedule an inspection? What about pricing, why do you ask for size of home or the address? Why do you ask if I want additional testing etc?

You can call our office, my cell or schedule yourself on the website! We will ask for as much information as we can to create an upfront quote which will not change! We will ask for the square footage and/or property address, this is the base/exact price of your inspection. We will ask if you need radon, septic or any other additional testing. Those additional items will also be discussed. A basic home inspection covers all systems and components on the inside and outside of the structure. It does not include radon, drinking water, septic scope, wood destroying organism. After discussing your needs, you will have an itemized quote of everything you need/want to get inspected or tested. Once everything is agreed to you will receive a disclosure by email which would need to be signed by email and an invoice by email which can be taken care of through our secure payment site. Your inspection is then scheduled and you will receive reminders of your upcoming appointment.

We perform this screening when a business applies to join our network and, if the business is accepted, whenever concerns are brought to our attention. We're committed to maintaining a network of trusted home service businesses, and those who don't meet our criteria will be rejected or promptly removed from our network.

Criminal Background Check

Who does HomeAdvisor background check?

The owner or principal of each business in HomeAdvisor's network (with the exception of Corporate Accounts) must pass a background check. Unfortunately, we cannot perform a background check on every employee of a business—the background checks are performed only on the owner or principal. As always, we recommend that you conduct your own research on the businesses you hire, including making inquiries directly with the businesses regarding their employee background check policies.

What does the background check cover?

We use a third-party vendor to conduct a criminal records search in the county in which the business owner or principal works. Our third-party vendor uses a national criminal database ("NCD") to screen service professionals. Business owners or principals with felony arrests that carry a pending decision or who are convicted of felonies in the past 7 years ago will not be admitted to the network. Businesses or owners convicted misdemeanors or felonies, or who have dismissed charges or arrests on their records involving rape/incest, sex offenses, or lewd and lascivious behavior at any point in time will not be admitted to our network.

Our background check does not exclude service professionals unless the crime at issue is a felony.

*The comprehensiveness of the NCD varies by state. Please be aware that the reporting in the NCD is particularly limited in the following states: AL, CO, DE, GA, ID, IL, KS, LA, ME, MA, MI, MS, MT, NE, NV, NH, NM, SD, UT, VA, VT, and WY. After initial admission to the HomeAdvisor network, businesses are re-screened if a concern is reported to HomeAdvisor.

Corporate Accounts

Some businesses are employees, franchisees, dealers or independent contractors ("Corporate SP's") of larger national or "Corporate Accounts". When this is the case, we may match you with the Corporate Account or with one of their Corporate businesses. The above screening process does not apply to Corporate Accounts, as HomeAdvisor does not screen Corporate Accounts or Corporate businesses.

Verify Trade License HomeAdvisor checks to see if the business carries the appropriate state-level license. Verify Insurance As a part of our screening process, we encourage professionals to carry general liability insurance. We require coverage for hundreds of services. Verification of State Business Filings For business types that require a Secretary of State filing, we confirm that the business is in good standing in the state in which it is located. Criminal Records Search HomeAdvisor uses 3rd party data sources to conduct a criminal search for any relevant criminal activity associated with the owner/principal of the business. Sex Offender Search We confirm that the owner/principal is not listed on the official state Sex Offender web site in the state in which the owner/principal of the company is located. Bankruptcy Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the history of the principal/owner of the business for bankruptcy filings by or against them. Legal Search for Civil Judgments We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for state level civil legal judgments entered against them. Liens Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for liens placed against them. Identity Verification (SSN) HomeAdvisor verifies the social security number(s) of the owner/principal for identity check purposes. This check applies primarily to smaller business entities. Identity Verification (Reverse Phone Lookup) We conduct a reverse business phone lookup to identify records matching the phone number information provided by the business.
