Jim Johnston and his fantastic team of real pros worked hard and transformed an aging dark cramped bathroom space into an absolutely beautiful modern miracle. We hired Jim's wife Day as a designer and her ideas and creativity created the magic. We had a great experience with back and forth communication throughout the process. Each of the subcontractors were master craftsmen. They all took great pride in their work and genuinely wanted us to be happy. We could not be happier with the finished product, and cannot recommend them highly enough.

Jim and his team, The Carmel Guild, executed the remodel of my kitchen and bath. Two old, outdated areas have been transformed into beautiful, functional spaces. They were thorough, knowledgeable and reliable in their work. Day has a gift for creative design and use of space. They also built a nice outdoor Catio space to allow my pets to enjoy the outdoors. They compose a professional team that approaches each job with care and attention to detail.

All the services were rendered timely, and we were notified when the contractors would arrive. Due to Covid some of the products were delayed or arrived damaged. We have purchased our new home in OLD TOWN Monterey. We had a few changes we wanted to make to improve the layout, appearances and the bay views. The work that we contracted for involved 1. opening up the kitchen wall to the dining room 2.refinishing 60 year old solid oak floors in living room and dining room and 3. adding crown molding and new baseboard molding to the living room and dining room. The work created the vision we had for this minor remodel and upgrade. The existing walls were the original plaster and they matched the texturing perfectly. A new header was installed in the new entry to the dining room and light switches were relocated. The refinishing of the oak floors provided us a grand look for the living room and dining room. The molding and baseboard are the topper for this work and they were done immaculately. The difference from the before to the after is amazing and we are glad we selected The Carmel Guild to partner with us. A BIG shout out to Jim and his crew for helping us make our new home truly ours!
