Reviews
Write a ReviewJim was extremely professional and his communication was excellent. He walked me through the process and gave me options. Jim amd his team gave me 5 star service on the 2,840 sq ft house they built for me. From the floors to the doors Jim helped me pick out everything came out great. I am so glad he was recommended to me by my neighbor Jared.
Great crews, hard workers, good quality work done fast. Great suggestions on remodel detail options. A happy crew working together is the sign of a good company. Jim Dietz has a great sense of humor. He comes up with 'spitball' options on the spot & his ideas are usually spot on.
The project was to be 2 months long, granted some unexpected items occurred however, we are now in month 11 and work incomplete and contractor said he could to spend any more time on project. Plumbing is incomplete, no water to addition (master bathroom). Had to hire additional contractors for completion of HVAC, Plumbing (trying to get plumbing in to complete but troubleshooting some else's work has been a hinderance) and Roofing inspection (not done to code). Walls not plumb, open/unsealed seams to exterior allowing light and insects into house. Many more issues of poor workmanship. Exposed nail tips, misaligned lighting, larger than necessary holes for electrical, etc I've taken pictures along the way and can support the issues. I only rate his customer service as a 2 because in the beginning he was responsive, as time went on, it diminished.
May 17, 2017 -UPDATE -- I reviewed Silverlining Const. earlier and I believe I might have been overly critical of their service. I was offered a choice of written bid or use the time and materials method. I chose time and materials. I don't think it would have mattered in the overall cost of the job. There was a problem with the tile that had already been put in before Silverlining came on the job. It was necessary to remove some tile and correct the problem. It was my call but it was hard to see the work redone. I was told of the problems that could occur down the road and the rebuilding was the best option. The owner was friendly and personable. He was on site a few times to check on things. I was somewhat disappointed in the final product. It looked pretty good standing back, but up close there were some flaws, but not very obvious. The clean up was not as thorough as it could have been. The company has a good reputation. This job had some problems that were not all Silverlining's fault.
