Test for Toxic Materials & Mold

Scott is an amazing person and he has been a blessing to our family. We purchased a home in July that was full of surprises. He was beyond through, helpful, understanding, knowledgeable, and went out of his way. I have an autoimmune condition and I am sensitive to mold he has helped me feel reassured a d safe in our house. Myself my husband and my son highly recommend Scott and his company. 11/24/21: I would highly recommend this company. Scott was beyond helpful, caring, professional, and knowledgeable from the start. He took my calls and texts responded fast and never seemed bothered to communicate with me about anything! I have an autoimmune condition and he went a million extra miles to make sure my home was safe to move into and my worries were relieved! We bought a house in 2020 and discovered mold in our basement before we could even move in he worked with us and helped us make our house safe to move into! I promise you this is the company to call! Mold is nothing to take lightly and you want a company that knows what they are doing and will do it right!!!

They were amazing with the help they provided for our problem. They are knowledgeable, well-informed, and solved our air quality problem. Scott Fisher was exceptional in his help and support throughout the whole process! He made extra trips to our home to insure that the air quality was safe on several occasions. Customer service was excellent.

They were very quick to respond when contacted through this site. They were able to schedule the inspection within 3 business days which was nice as I was expecting 1-2 weeks. Haven't received the results yet so no further services have been used but will definitely use them for the remediation should it come to that.

We're committed to maintaining a network of trusted home service businesses, and those who don't meet our criteria will be rejected or promptly removed from our network.

Criminal Background Check

Who does HomeAdvisor background check?

The owner or principal of each business in HomeAdvisor's network (with the exception of Corporate Accounts) must pass a background check. Unfortunately, we cannot perform a background check on every employee of a business—the background checks are performed only on the owner or principal. As always, we recommend that you conduct your own research on the businesses you hire, including making inquiries directly with the businesses regarding their employee background check policies.

What does the background check cover?

We use a third-party vendor to conduct a criminal records search in the county in which the business owner or principal works. Our third-party vendor uses a national criminal database ("NCD") to screen service professionals. Business owners or principals with felony arrests that carry a pending decision or who are convicted of felonies in the past 7 years ago will not be admitted to the network. Businesses or owners convicted misdemeanors or felonies, or who have dismissed charges or arrests on their records involving rape/incest, sex offenses, or lewd and lascivious behavior at any point in time will not be admitted to our network.

Our background check does not exclude service professionals unless the crime at issue is a felony.

*The comprehensiveness of the NCD varies by state. Please be aware that the reporting in the NCD is particularly limited in the following states: AL, CO, DE, GA, ID, IL, KS, LA, ME, MA, MI, MS, MT, NE, NV, NH, NM, SD, UT, VA, VT, and WY. After initial admission to the HomeAdvisor network, businesses are re-screened if a concern is reported to HomeAdvisor.

Corporate Accounts

Some businesses are employees, franchisees, dealers or independent contractors ("Corporate SP's") of larger national or "Corporate Accounts". When this is the case, we may match you with the Corporate Account or with one of their Corporate businesses. The above screening process does not apply to Corporate Accounts, as HomeAdvisor does not screen Corporate Accounts or Corporate businesses.

Verify Trade License HomeAdvisor checks to see if the business carries the appropriate state-level license. Verify Insurance As a part of our screening process, we encourage professionals to carry general liability insurance. We require coverage for hundreds of services. Verification of State Business Filings For business types that require a Secretary of State filing, we confirm that the business is in good standing in the state in which it is located. Criminal Records Search HomeAdvisor uses 3rd party data sources to conduct a criminal search for any relevant criminal activity associated with the owner/principal of the business. Sex Offender Search We confirm that the owner/principal is not listed on the official state Sex Offender web site in the state in which the owner/principal of the company is located. Bankruptcy Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the history of the principal/owner of the business for bankruptcy filings by or against them. Legal Search for Civil Judgments We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for state level civil legal judgments entered against them. Liens Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for liens placed against them. Identity Verification (SSN) HomeAdvisor verifies the social security number(s) of the owner/principal for identity check purposes. This check applies primarily to smaller business entities. Identity Verification (Reverse Phone Lookup) We conduct a reverse business phone lookup to identify records matching the phone number information provided by the business.
