Reviews
Write a ReviewWe hired Room to Grow for a side yard project in DuPont. We have not had luck successfully designing & planting in this long narrow space, and needed professional help. The work took less than two days, and it is absolutely perfect. Ken listened to our preferences on budget and level of maintaining this area, and after the installation he walked through the property to describe how best to prune & care for the plants so they will grow & fill the space over the next few years. We could not be happier! (Attached are before & after pictures of our space.)
Melissa, it was a fun project. Thanks for your kind words.
I have a large, difficult lot with many challenges. I asked Ken to design an easily maintainable garden within a $40k budget. There were some successes, and some great disappointments. Unfortunately,, I?m now trying to finish an area that he called a ?meadow? where he threw down some mixed flower/grasses seed over rocky, barren soil with a gravel path. What I have are weeds and grasses. Other areas are over planted with shrubs planted to close to each other and on top of each other. I asked several times for a plant map, what I got was a list of plants. He planted an orchard even though I warned him of the many deer that are here. He insisted, after they devastated the trees that they couldn?t get over the fence?
Dorothy I am sorry for your experience. I would like to point out several things. A complete design and plant list were provided so I am unclear why you were surprised plants were so close to each other. It was a layered garden ... I never misrepresented that. Second, the problem you experienced with the irrigation happened when someone on the property turned the timer from daily to once a week watering. Several plants died in that process. But, as you will recall, I replaced them anyway. As for the deer, they don't jump the fence ... they go through the broken fence gate which I also several times told you was going to be a problem. The deer did a lot of damage which could have been avoided. As for the meadow, it was an on-going project ... I was there even in July before I saw this review. I had not abandoned it.
