This guy really knows what he is doing. The job was difficult. The quote was reasonable. The work was top notch. I'd definitely ask him to work in the future on similar projects.

When I submitted my request, I made it very clear the brand and model of the shower door that I had purchased. As soon as I showed Kevin the door, he stated that he had never installed one of these before, but that he should be able to figure it out from the instructions. To make sure, I asked again if he had ever installed a Frameless shower door. He said he had';t, but that he had installed other shower doors so ;it shouldn't be too hard. After having spent $2400 on a custom-manufactured shower door, I was understandably concerned. I asked if Kevin was bonded, and he calmly stated that he was not. I hoped for the best as he got started on the 3-hour job. Nearly 5 hours later, he was still working. In the process, he managed to break one of the seals on the door. (He told us we could always glue it or order a new one.) He also required assistance from both my wife and me, taking us away from other projects for extended periods. He lost one of two set screws that I'll end up replacing (or risk having the top track come off). It remains to be seen if the installation will hold up. Some minor issues would have been understandable, but three things stuck out about our experience. First, after having been very clear about the product, I would have expected an installer who was somewhat familiar with the type and the process. Second, sending a contractor who is not bonded seemed very suspect since, in the event of any dissatisfaction, my only recourse would be to file suit. Finally, Kevin was both rude and profane. Every setback was met with a flurry of vulgarity as he blamed the manufacturer, the product, or the instructions. I'm no prude, but his cursing could be heard throughout my home and (during the times he had to go back and forth to his truck) by several of my neighbors. This was in no way professional behavior. I would have expected a professional to offer to have a different installer assigned for my installation, since Kevin was totally unfamiliar with the design. This wasn't offered or even mentioned. I wish now that I had insisted on it. He seemed quite upset that the installation instructions didn't include pictures. We'll be remodeling our other bathroom this Spring, and I won't make the same mistake again.

Reed Custom Glass & Mirror rendered a good service. I had a rather unique job task for this company. I recently had my master bathroom renovated. Instead of having a tempered glass shower enclosure installed, I requested the shower enclosure be installed using cast acrylic glass (a.k.a. ;) material. The Reed professional told me that the job would be challenging, considering he had never installed that particular material before. However, he did not deny me of service. He installed the plexiglass shower enclosure with such craft and thoroughness. Since I chose to purchase my own hardware and materials for this project, the Reed professional even gave me advice that made my purchasing experience easy. There were minor details about the completion of the project that concern me, and would like to discuss with the professional. However, this is NOT to say that the outcome or final product of the project was terrible. Also, I am very appreciative of the generous discount you have given me! Thank you Reed Custom Glass & Mirror!
