ProSkill is the North Valley Premier plumbing, heating, and air conditioning service contractor. We are a licensed and insured, full-service residential plumbing, air conditioning, and water treatment company. Proskill Plumbing was established in 2008 by Tyler and Travis Ringe, two brothers who grew up in a family of tradesmen. After new home building began to dwindle, they went to work in the Plumbing and Water Treatment service industry. Tyler explains how ProSkill got its start: "We decided to start our own company to provide products and services we felt our competitors were overlooking. There is no doubt, we started ProSkill Plumbing in one of the worst economic times our country has ever seen. With that in mind, our business plan included reasonable pricing, fantastic service, and ALWAYS following through on what we say. We personally believe that if we provide these three key items to every customer, we will have a customer for life."

Proskill was willing to come install the new water softener while I was at work so I didn't have to take off any time. I gave them access to the garage. A few weeks later I had a question about the salt tank & they said they'd come out and take a look. The plumber that came was very nice, explained how the salt tank worked & that it was normal what it was doing. I apologized for having them come out & he said no problem and that's why I chose them - to be of service. Proskill did not charge me any thing. They are a great company. I highly recommend them. They are reasonable on their prices, prompt, courteous, very professional. They don't oversell their services. I will definitely use them again

A blocked condensation drain line from our air handler unit in the attic resulted in a water backup, overflow and ultimately a wet spot in our ceiling drywall. My wife saw an advertisement, for ProSkill, in our local paper. I checked them out on Angie's List and found they were "A" rated so I gave them a call. Their service technician, Keith, quickly found the cause of the problem along with a couple of other issues. He clearly explained each problem and outlined a range of possible solutions. He then went about the task of completing the repairs; on time and on budget. What more could I ask for!? I highly recommend ProSkill! After a couple of recent, bad experiences with A/C repair contractors, it is wonderful to find someone who knows what they are doing!

HomeAdvisor uses an extensive screening process to screen businesses and business owners/principals. We perform this screening when a business applies to join our network and, if the business is accepted, whenever concerns are brought to our attention. If you have concerns that a pro in our network doesn't meet these standards, please contact us to investigate. We're committed to maintaining a network of trusted home service businesses, and those who don't meet our criteria will be rejected or promptly removed from our network.

Criminal Background Check

Who does HomeAdvisor background check?

The owner or principal of each business in HomeAdvisor's network (with the exception of Corporate Accounts) must pass a background check. Unfortunately, we cannot perform a background check on every employee of a business—the background checks are performed only on the owner or principal. As always, we recommend that you conduct your own research on the businesses you hire, including making inquiries directly with the businesses regarding their employee background check policies.

What does the background check cover?

We use a third-party vendor to conduct a criminal records search in the county in which the business owner or principal works. Our third-party vendor uses a national criminal database ("NCD") to screen service professionals. Business owners or principals with felony arrests that carry a pending decision or who are convicted of felonies in the past 7 years ago will not be admitted to the network. Businesses or owners convicted misdemeanors or felonies, or who have dismissed charges or arrests on their records involving rape/incest, sex offenses, or lewd and lascivious behavior at any point in time will not be admitted to our network.

Our background check does not exclude service professionals unless the crime at issue is a felony.

*The comprehensiveness of the NCD varies by state. Please be aware that the reporting in the NCD is particularly limited in the following states: AL, CO, DE, GA, ID, IL, KS, LA, ME, MA, MI, MS, MT, NE, NV, NH, NM, SD, UT, VA, VT, and WY. After initial admission to the HomeAdvisor network, businesses are re-screened if a concern is reported to HomeAdvisor.

Corporate Accounts

Some businesses are employees, franchisees, dealers or independent contractors ("Corporate SP's") of larger national or "Corporate Accounts". When this is the case, we may match you with the Corporate Account or with one of their Corporate businesses. The above screening process does not apply to Corporate Accounts, as HomeAdvisor does not screen Corporate Accounts or Corporate businesses.

Verify Trade License HomeAdvisor checks to see if the business carries the appropriate state-level license. Verify Insurance As a part of our screening process, we encourage professionals to carry general liability insurance. We require coverage for hundreds of services. Verification of State Business Filings For business types that require a Secretary of State filing, we confirm that the business is in good standing in the state in which it is located. Criminal Records Search HomeAdvisor uses 3rd party data sources to conduct a criminal search for any relevant criminal activity associated with the owner/principal of the business. Sex Offender Search We confirm that the owner/principal is not listed on the official state Sex Offender web site in the state in which the owner/principal of the company is located. Bankruptcy Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the history of the principal/owner of the business for bankruptcy filings by or against them. Legal Search for Civil Judgments We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for state level civil legal judgments entered against them. Liens Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for liens placed against them. Identity Verification (SSN) HomeAdvisor verifies the social security number(s) of the owner/principal for identity check purposes. This check applies primarily to smaller business entities. Identity Verification (Reverse Phone Lookup) We conduct a reverse business phone lookup to identify records matching the phone number information provided by the business.
