How We Got Started

I chose to work in this industry because I started in the roofing industry because I was drawn to the craftsmanship and the satisfaction of solving real problems for people. Growing up in the Greater Boston area, I’ve always carried that hardworking, no-nonsense attitude with me. After over 40 years in the trade, I moved to Easthampton in 2015, and since then, Peak Performance Roofing has become a trusted name across Western Massachusetts. Sure, I might not pronounce all my "R's" perfectly, but I’ve built a reputation on honesty, exceptional customer service, and roofing skills you can count on. Repair an Asphalt Shingle Roof

We contacted Peak late in the season after a tree damaged our roof. They were very accommodating in inserting us into their busy schedule and our new roof was installed quickly and efficiently. The the roofing crew was careful, competent and friendly, and the estimating and office staff addressed all our questions quickly and thoroughly. We are very pleased with the result and can recommend them highly.

Install or Replace an Asphalt Shingle Roof

Jim Flannery and his crew are fantastic to work with. His pricing is fair and competitive and his work is exceptional. He helped my family with a job and was able to squeeze us in last minute with his crew working on a Sunday just so we could get our roof fixed quickly. After they were through with the installation the job site was cleaned up as if they were never there except that we had a new roof! He is trustworthy and I would recommend him 100%.

We had a top of the line slate roof installed. This was not a quick or easy project but an important one given that my home is a historic, center chimney colonial built in 1806. I am very pleased with the results and would recommend Peak to anyone looking for a roofing company.

We're committed to maintaining a network of trusted home service businesses, and those who don't meet our criteria will be rejected or promptly removed from our network.

Criminal Background Check

Who does HomeAdvisor background check?

The owner or principal of each business in HomeAdvisor's network (with the exception of Corporate Accounts) must pass a background check. Unfortunately, we cannot perform a background check on every employee of a business—the background checks are performed only on the owner or principal. As always, we recommend that you conduct your own research on the businesses you hire, including making inquiries directly with the businesses regarding their employee background check policies.

What does the background check cover?

We use a third-party vendor to conduct a criminal records search in the county in which the business owner or principal works. Our third-party vendor uses a national criminal database ("NCD") to screen service professionals. Business owners or principals with felony arrests that carry a pending decision or who are convicted of felonies in the past 7 years ago will not be admitted to the network. Businesses or owners convicted misdemeanors or felonies, or who have dismissed charges or arrests on their records involving rape/incest, sex offenses, or lewd and lascivious behavior at any point in time will not be admitted to our network.

Our background check does not exclude service professionals unless the crime at issue is a felony.

*The comprehensiveness of the NCD varies by state. Please be aware that the reporting in the NCD is particularly limited in the following states: AL, CO, DE, GA, ID, IL, KS, LA, ME, MA, MI, MS, MT, NE, NV, NH, NM, SD, UT, VA, VT, and WY. After initial admission to the HomeAdvisor network, businesses are re-screened if a concern is reported to HomeAdvisor.

Corporate Accounts

Some businesses are employees, franchisees, dealers or independent contractors ("Corporate SP's") of larger national or "Corporate Accounts". When this is the case, we may match you with the Corporate Account or with one of their Corporate businesses. The above screening process does not apply to Corporate Accounts, as HomeAdvisor does not screen Corporate Accounts or Corporate businesses.

Verify Trade License HomeAdvisor checks to see if the business carries the appropriate state-level license. Verify Insurance As a part of our screening process, we encourage professionals to carry general liability insurance. We require coverage for hundreds of services. Verification of State Business Filings For business types that require a Secretary of State filing, we confirm that the business is in good standing in the state in which it is located. Criminal Records Search HomeAdvisor uses 3rd party data sources to conduct a criminal search for any relevant criminal activity associated with the owner/principal of the business. Sex Offender Search We confirm that the owner/principal is not listed on the official state Sex Offender web site in the state in which the owner/principal of the company is located. Bankruptcy Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the history of the principal/owner of the business for bankruptcy filings by or against them. Legal Search for Civil Judgments We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for state level civil legal judgments entered against them. Liens Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for liens placed against them. Identity Verification (SSN) HomeAdvisor verifies the social security number(s) of the owner/principal for identity check purposes. This check applies primarily to smaller business entities. Identity Verification (Reverse Phone Lookup) We conduct a reverse business phone lookup to identify records matching the phone number information provided by the business.
