Trim or Remove Trees and Shrubs

They arrived on schedule and quickly got to work removing eight very old trees. The four person team all knew their tasks and were always working - no standing around smoking or cell phone usage. They were the hardest working and most polite crew I have ever seen. Their equipment was in perfect order and clean - no oil or hydraulic leaks. All work was done in a safe, professional manner. The clean-up was amazing! EVERYTHING was picked up and removed. Stump removal scheduling was arranged before they left. What a great company to use! We are very satisfied.

An excellent contractor. They responded to my request for a quote the same day. Rich answered all of my questions and went over everything they would do to take care of removing many very large tree limbs and one dead ash tree. All personnel arrived on site even a little before schedule and got right to work. Rich and his employees are extremely skilled and personable. The whole process was very smooth, pretty quiet ( considering the type of work ) and they left the work areas spotless. It is so hard to find a great contractor so I wanted to write a review for others in need of a professional tree service.

We loved loved the fast service for our new yard, that happened to be overtaken with terrible overgrown everything that was infested with poison ivy. Rich was the best in the whole process of removing many trees, and overgrown shrubs. Karlin was so awesome with the hard brush work. I feel like they rescued us from a bad situation!

i called one company on a friday and they couldnt quote the job til tuesday which really didnt bother me. then i checked out home advisor and a man from northeast called meand said he come quote the job that same day. he got there a couple hours later. the tree was gone and cleaned up early monday morning. they will get all my work from now on...

We received our estimate Sunday morning for three trees to be removed. Friday morning three trucks arrived at 8:30am and the trees were gone by 11am. Super service! Great cleanup! Great price! Highly recommend!!!

Northeast Tree recently removed a huge Norway Spruce near our home - professional, on time, thorough clean-up, and excellent communication throughout the process - all for an extremely fair and honest cost. I will (and already have!) highly recommend Rich and Northeast Tree, along with his professional and courteous crew to anyone needing their service - and much like the other reviews I won't use anyone else !

We're committed to maintaining a network of trusted home service businesses, and those who don't meet our criteria will be rejected or promptly removed from our network.

Criminal Background Check

Who does HomeAdvisor background check?

The owner or principal of each business in HomeAdvisor's network (with the exception of Corporate Accounts) must pass a background check. Unfortunately, we cannot perform a background check on every employee of a business—the background checks are performed only on the owner or principal. As always, we recommend that you conduct your own research on the businesses you hire, including making inquiries directly with the businesses regarding their employee background check policies.

What does the background check cover?

We use a third-party vendor to conduct a criminal records search in the state in which the business owner or principal works. Our third-party vendor uses a national criminal database ("NCD") to screen service professionals. Businesses will not be admitted to the network if their owners or principals have the following felonies in their available criminal records*:

Arson

Assault/domestic violence/battery

Child abuse

Intimidation/terrorist threats

Kidnapping/abduction

Lewd and lascivious behavior

Manslaughter/murder/homicide/vehicular homicide

Rape/incest

Robbery/carjacking

Sex offenses

Other felonies not listed above that occurred in the past seven years

Contracting without a license in the past seven years

Our background check does not exclude service professionals unless the crime at issue is a felony.

*The comprehensiveness of the NCD varies by state. Please be aware that the reporting in the NCD is particularly limited in the following states: AL, CO, DE, GA, ID, IL, KS, LA, ME, MA, MI, MS, MT, NE, NV, NH, NM, SD, UT, VA, VT, and WY. After initial admission to the HomeAdvisor network, businesses are re-screened biennially.

How is COVID-19 impacting the HomeAdvisor background check program?

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, several government agencies and courts across the country have temporarily closed their offices. While HomeAdvisor will continue its background check program to the extent possible, these closures could prevent some background checks from being performed. Please be advised that, during this period, if we could not perform a background check, HomeAdvisor will allow the business into the network and match the business to consumers. As affected government agencies and courts begin to re-open, we will resume our program in those jurisdictions. As always, we encourage consumers to perform their own research, to the extent possible, before hiring any business.

Licensing

We verify any applicable state-level licenses, and we require every business to attest that they carry the appropriate local licensing to practice their trade. Please note that HomeAdvisor does not confirm local licensing. Do your own research using online ratings, reviews and through phone interviews before hiring a company.

Corporate Accounts

Some businesses are employees, franchisees, dealers or independent contractors ("Corporate SP's") of larger national or "Corporate Accounts". When this is the case, we may match you with the Corporate Account or with one of their Corporate businesses. The above screening process does not apply to Corporate Accounts, as HomeAdvisor does not screen Corporate Accounts or Corporate businesses.

Verify Trade License HomeAdvisor checks to see if the business carries the appropriate state-level license. Verify Insurance As a part of our screening process, we encourage professionals to carry general liability insurance. We require coverage for hundreds of services. Verification of State Business Filings For business types that require a Secretary of State filing, we confirm that the business is in good standing in the state in which it is located. Criminal Records Search HomeAdvisor uses 3rd party data sources to conduct a criminal search for any relevant criminal activity associated with the owner/principal of the business. Sex Offender Search We confirm that the owner/principal is not listed on the official state Sex Offender web site in the state in which the owner/principal of the company is located. Bankruptcy Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the history of the principal/owner of the business for bankruptcy filings by or against them. Legal Search for Civil Judgments We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for state level civil legal judgments entered against them. Liens Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for liens placed against them. Identity Verification (SSN) HomeAdvisor verifies the social security number(s) of the owner/principal for identity check purposes. This check applies primarily to smaller business entities. Identity Verification (Reverse Phone Lookup) We conduct a reverse business phone lookup to identify records matching the phone number information provided by the business.
