Write a ReviewOutstanding service I would hire the company for any tree project
Monkey Tree Service workers who came to our house were exceptionally professional, courteous and efficient. The gentleman who was shown the trees and bushes that needed to be trimmed asked the right questions and offered appropriate advice. Unlike other contractors, the estimates were broken out so I could choose which parts I would accept. In my case there was a large amount for removing blackberry bushes which didn't fit my budget, so I was able to remove that task. The estimate took a couple of days to arrive by email, longer than promised. As I had to remove the blackberry task, I could not approve and asked for a revision. Again, the response time for that was less than desired. Once I did approve, scheduling was another problem. They promised one date, so I worked from home to accomodate, and they didn't show. Then they offer two dates, one of which was wrong (Wednesday the 17th was not a date in this month in this year). I chose a date...then a new email offers another date, which I accepted. This time they did show up. I went through what needed to be done. They were very efficient and had all the right equipment, cutting branches safely and chipping them immediately. In one case they decided to cut the branch in a different way than I had asked to let some of the green needles mask part of our yard, "otherwise you'd have a big hole there," as Mahdil explained. Being conservative about cutting and aware: very good service! I would not have been able to do what they did in the hour they took to do it. Very pleased.
Prompt, professional, good price. I’m happy with the result. I’d use them again.
Monkey Tree Service did a great job for a fair price! I will definitely hire them again!

Fast and professional
the company did a great job
They came same day I contacted them. Nice people , nice and quick work.
The tree fell in the road and they were able to take care of it immediately.
The bid for the tree removal was very competitive. The pre-job walk-down and estimate included Safely Rig Down One Section section at a time. The branches were rigged down. However, the top was brought down in a 20+ section freefalling from 50+ feet in a huge crash. The remaining sections of the trunk were brought down in 10 to 14 sections, not rigged down. They were dropped from a height, causing damage to my irrigation system and deeply gouging my yard. Some of the large trunk sections rolled out into the street, which is definitely not safely brought down. The tree service then brought in heavy equipment to skid out the trunk sections. The heavy equipment was not mentioned in the estimate, and permission was not requested to operate the equipment on my property. The first skiddier/grapple was too small for the size of the trunk section and broke its track as the operator was trying to skid out / push / roll the trunk sections into the street. The tree service was able to remove the broken skidder and brought in a larger skidder/grapple and loaded out the remaining trunk sections. In addition to the irrigation damage, the heavy equipment deeply gouged the soil in my yard as it was operating. The large tree debris such as branches was removed, however, there was a significant amount of sawdust and other small debris which was left in place. This damaged many of the nearby landscaping plants due to being buried, and over-mulching in the hot weather. The log sections were dropped in an unsafe, unrigged manner well outside of the agreed-upon drop zone This in addition to the use of heavy equipment caused significant damage to my existing landscaping. All plants in the work area were crushed, scraped, or otherwise significantly damaged. Since the tree removal, I have spent many hours of my own time performing damage control on my irrigation and landscaping to start to recover from the tree removal activity. The estimator did not let us know ahead of time how extensive the work area would be. Had they done so, we could have moved many plants, to avoid this collateral damage. It is unlikely that I would hire Monkey Tree Service LLC again unless I had zero concern for any nearby plants, landscaping, irrigation, or retaining walls. I have reached out to Monkey Tree service regarding the non-safe rigging and use of heavy equipment, but have not heard back.
