Write a ReviewThey would not honor their 12 month warranty on their completed work, although they admitted in an email, that their contractor had used screws that were too short, causing the project to fail and pull apart within 10 months of completion.
It was a big mistake to hire Make Ready Residential, LLC. They required 75% payment up-front, which was the first red flag. They did a terrible job on two shower replacements, placing tile behind one shower head but not the other. The new flooring for the kitchen was supposed to be waterproof, but since they didn't install it correctly, there were gaps between the planks. Where they removed towel holders and had to patch the wall, they used no filler, just painted over the rough sections of the wall. They also neglected to replace the porcelain bolt covers on the base of the toilets. They had to return multiple times before it was right, making a week-long project last two months. This made the cost of using Make Ready much higher than anticipated. In the end, I discovered they did not get permits or inspections for the plumbing replacement they did, although permits are required by both the state of Texas and the city of Carrollton. I would not hire them again. It was a terrible and costly experience.
The servicemen were knowledgeable, experienced, efficient, courteous, respectful, and took extra measures to make sure my home was well prepared. I would recommend them based on their high skill level, professionalism, and quality of work. I’m very satisfied with the final results.
Working with make ready was a great experience! We love the work they did and they did everything in a good timeline and for a good price!
Thank you for your business Megan. It was great working with you. Our team is happy you enjoy!
Fool me once, shame on me. Fool me twice . . . We originally used Make Ready to remodel three bathrooms and paint our kitchen. The first time, we were less than impressed with the work. When they retiled the bathroom, they completely missed areas to grout. In other places, they got our dark colored grout on our base boards. They repainted our bathroom cabinetry and missed big chunks of the cabinets next to the floor. We pointed these out to the project manager, Josh, but they still were never fixed entirely. Months later, we were still finding splatters of paint on brand new countertops and ceilings. It was super frustrating. A few months later, we were approached by Mike about completing additional work. Mike was a neighbor. We expressed our concerns and he told us he assured us he would not let that happen again. Against our better judgment, we agreed. This time, they were patching and repairing a few areas of siding and painting the exterior siding, doors, and shutters. The crew that came out was really nice, but unfortunately not exceptionally skilled. By the time they were done our cars were also covered with paint overspray. After they started spraying, they told us we needed to move our cars and where we needed to move them. We complied each time, but it was already too late. We tried working with Make Ready to have them pay for repairs. The repairs were costly. Some parts can't just be repainted, but they need to be replaced. After receiving quotes, Make Ready ghosted us. Now, we are stuck with $10K worth of damage to my car. It is especially disheartening because we originally went with this company because we wanted to support parents or our son friend and members of our community. Use this as your cautionary tale . . . take your business elsewhere. Find a company that will do a quality job and not balk at the idea for accepting responsibility for its mistakes.
The second crew they sent was really really bad. Could not follow the printed directions on installing a shower door. I had to explain to them the multiple steps they were doing incorrectly. Owner then contacted me and argued. They eventually reinstalled the door but did a sloppy job of the side work (messed up the paint trim, did sloppy caulking and missed some grout holes) and damaged the metal pieces themselves. I was really happy up until the door was messed up so badly.
These guys are professionals. They know how to get the work done in a timely manner while providing good communication, quality workmanship all for a reasonable price. I highly recommend!
They did a good job without a hitch. Solid work and a lower price then the competitors.
