Just started working with him, but so far so good. :)

Marvin said he was going to provide me with a quote, however, when he visited he did not give me a quote, instead he started working on the job. He had to leave due to some issue and when he came back he over charged me; he charged me for coming back and well as to do the job. I found him to be unprofessional

Marvin is a hard worker. There were a few times where the language barrier came into play, but after spending some time with him, explaining exactly what I was looking for - he grasped the concept, and was able to meet all my expectations. He drove a long way to help me out, here in Gilroy and I appreciate that. He also went the extra mile in my garage by assisting with stacking boxes onto the new shelving. I thought that his labor charge was a bit high, but, what isn't these days?

He did not complete the job to our satisfaction. The kitchen patches are horrible. Had to have them redone. Even the painting in the living room had to be redone because there was an obvious line where the new paint ended. It was not feathered out,as promised. When we expressed our dissatisfaction,he initially said it couldn't be made any better. Later, after taking payment, he said he would be back in 2-3 weeks to fix it. Who takes payment before completing the job. Not happy.

I am very picky about the details and most contractors and handymen do not even come close to satisfactory in my book. With that said he was very helpful, very nice and got the job done quickly. There are some small details that bothered me that might not bother others. The work was in my closet where I hang my clothes. The screws used that are visible have big bulky heads and do not look in place in a closet. In one of the corners on the top board the edge split and had to be mended, it is visibly noticeable that it was broken and fixed.

HE MAKES REPAIRS OR CHANGES THINGS WITHOUT ASKING YOUR PERMISSION. HE ALSO CAUSED DAMAGE TO A LIGHT FIXTURE. UNDEPENDABLE. NEVER SHOWS UP WHEN YOU ASK HIM TO COME TO YOUR HOUSE & DOES NOT RETURN YOUR CALLS.

Gets the job done. Does not over charge. Kind and professional.

"MJ" contractor is a State-licensed contractor; it was awarded the work based on a competitive bid and its scheduling was compliant with my project requirements. His wood fence repair work is excellent to wit: he procured good quality material; he & his helper worked with care & competence using installation methods that ensure fence longevity & strength; he kept a safe & clean work site; and he completed all of the work, which included a change order, on time.
