$150 for 5 min work EXPENSIVE!!

    Response from Company:

Live Systems has a flat service call fee for the metroplex area. This fee includes a trip charge and 1 hour of labor for a technician and his helper. This customer had a simple electrical problem that required less than 1hr of labor, however the technician did drive 30 min to their house and 30 min back to the shop with a total time of 30 min on the job. if the job had of taken the full hour of labor plus both travel times the customer still would have been charged only $150.00.

These guy's were great. Miguel and his team did a fantastic job and were well worth the money. I just moved into my newly built home, and I had purchased most of the lights on my own as the builder selection wasn't very good, and expensive. I went through Homeadvisor, and I was given 3 companies who all came out and gave me quotes. I opted to go with Live Systems as Ruben was very knowledgeable and the pricing was also reasonable. The job wasn't easy as we had 6 Chandeliers installed in addition to outside lighting, ceiling fans, kitchen pendants and sconce lights. I was very satisfied with the end result, and they left the home in a very clean state. I would definately recommend them and I will be using them again in the near future.

I've called these pros out for three different projects now, and I am preparing a fourth project for them. They have been excellent and prompt in their work to the point that they are needing to hire more journeymen to keep up with the demand. :-)

The owner, Darin Cooper, came out personally to do the original evaluation, as a different electrician made the repairs sound more involved than necessary. He quickly diagnosed the problem, explained it simply, then had one of his local techs come out and switch out my bad breaker. I was very pleased, and would definitely ask for them again.

What I originally requested for them to fix was some issues in the panel, a couple of out dated fan switches and to wire up a new blower to the hot tub. The panel was found during our house inspection before we bought the house. They came in and did the work that was requested but when the panel was opened it was much worse the the inspection report stated. There were wires that had to be extended to reach the circuit breakers and neutral bar. By code you cannot have wire nuts in the panel. Also found was many neutral wire had the insulation stripped back to far and the exposed wire was right next to the ground wires. In the past the panel was replaced by a non electrician and the wires were all over the place just to get them to connect to a breaker. They fixed all the wires that had wire nuts on them and we were going to fix the rest later, this was on a Friday. The next day we found that the dishwasher, garbage disposal, and 2 plugs did not work, I just thought something came loose in the attic where they fixed all the wire nut problems. I called and left a message and was called back on Monday. The electrician came back Tuesday and checked and could not find anything out of place. He opened up the panel and was looking around and saw way in the back a ball of electrical tape. When he pulled it out is was 6 neutrals connect to a single 12ga wire going to the neutral bar. He did a temporary fix and got all out circuits working. They would come back and fix it right. We had a communication issue here and he did not call to setup a time to come back and I got call that he was on the way but no one was going to be home, also he was to fix the 6 neutrals and that was it. We worked out a time for that day and his people came out and rewired the whole panel and fix all the issues that was found earlier. When I got home I call him and kind of complained and he was going to stick to the original est. After talking my wife and the workers and what they found I was OK with paying for all the work. In the end it was the right thing to do, they fix a problem that could have burnt down the house. Over all I am satisfied with the work and OK with the money. I would hire them again.
