Hired Paul to build a deck. Initially quoted me $10,000. I gave him a $3000 deposit. He came out and measured for the deck. He did not have to pay for a permit as the city waived the fee due to issues we had building our house. The city requested a drawing of deck which Paul provided. There was no contract signed with Paul. I wanted to get another quote for the deck as I was a little concerned. The second quote I received was $8000. I called Paul and wanted to verify his price. He told me $11000. I asked if that included wrapping the deck poles. He said no. I told him I received a lower quote of $8000. I told him I needed to go with the lower price. I told Paul to send me a refund but to keep some money for his time. I texted him after a month of waiting and he said he would Zelle me my refund. He sent me back $1500. I tried calling him and he would not answer. I can understand him keeping $500, but not $1500.

Paul Kirk with Deck Renewal Specialists did an excellent job on our deck. The job was completed earlier than promised at a reasonable price. Cleanup was great. Promises made, promises kept!
