a pleasure to work with them . the installers where very nice . they did an excellent job . would hire them again.
In April 2018, I hired JOE LINK CONCRETE CONSTRUCTION to install an aggregate drive and sidewalk for me. One of the main reasons I used Joe Link instead of one of my much better estimates was because a good friend had recommended Joe Link. My friend had known Joe Link several years earlier and felt that Link was a decent person. Not long after pouring the concrete several hairline cracks appeared. A few month later wide cracks appeared. I called John Link (Joe Links son) about this, and he came and looked at the cracks. John said the cracks should be fixed, and he would do it as soon as the weather got warm. Well the weather got warm but I did not hear anything from John Link. So I called him back. He said he would call me next week and set up a time. But he did not. And he would tell me the same thing each time I called him. So I called Joe Link, and he came and looked and said the cracks should be fixed because the ice would ruin the drive. Joe Link said he would come the next week and fix it himself. But he did not call or come back. So I call Joe Link back, and he said he would call me the next day and tell me when he would come and fix this. Well Joe Link has not come or called. My friend apologized and said he was very disappointed in Joe Link. And so am I. The Links collected a total of $18,392.60 from me. And this is how they treat me. I hope this review will help keep this from happening to someone else. This is a continuation of the first review I did of JOE LINK CONCRETE CONSTRUCTION. Since Joe Link did not do anything about the wide cracks in my driveway I bought some caulk and tried to fill them enough to keep water out and ice forming in them. Now a piece of concrete has popped out. Where this happened the concrete is very thin. Less than an inch and there is only dirt. I can push a screwdriver into the ground. I was promised 4 inch (ca. 10 cm) thick concrete and 5 to 6 inches (ca. 15 cm) thick along the edges. I called Joe Link and at first he thought I was someone else. When he realized who I was he hung up. I did not get a chance to tell him why I was calling. So I called John Link, his son, and tried to tell him. He thought I was calling about the cracks again. He did some yelling and said he had more important things to deal with. And that was as far as I got. Stay away from Joe Link and John Link and do not get lied. And if that is not enough, when my driveway was poured John Link told me I really needed to get it sealed. I ask how long should I wait. He said with this concrete the sooner the better. So he sealed it 3 days later. Recently I found out that new concrete should cure a minimum of 30 days before sealing. Because if you do not it will never have the strength that properly poured concrete will have. It says this on the bucket of the sealer they used. Joe Link came recommended and I trusted him. He seemed okay at that time. But now I know Joe Link and his son are no good. I hope this review will help someone.
BUYER BEWARE: let me preface this by saying I have a degree from Middle TN St University in Concrete Management, I am an American Concrete Institute certified technician, and worked monitoring concrete placement, testing concrete, taking and testing core samples for 10 years under an engineering consulting firm. That being said... Joe link concrete scammed me, I bought a new home from a general contractor that had Joe Link concrete install the driveway. Fast forward 2 years and the whole driveway is spalling up and coming apart. Before contacting Joe Link, I talked to several reputable concrete contractors that came to the same conclusion that Joe Link concrete incorrectly finished the concrete resulting in a weak top layer. I contacted Joe Link, and he met me at my home. He immediately tried to skirt responsibility and say we used salt which is not possible because I have lived there and have never used salt. I do not even think it snowed in the last 2 years. Because I share a driveway with my neighbor he has spalling on smaller spots, so I asked Joe about those, and he said --because the neighbor pressure washed his it is tearing it up--. What does that even mean? How in the world does this guy get business with his IQ? Pressure washing should not rip up concrete genius. I know that concrete installed correctly should last 20-40 years, my slab barely made it 2. After skirting all responsibility he offered to tell me how to fix it cheap. Knowing what I know, and even a quick google search can point out there is nothing that can be done to repair the troubled areas cheap long term only quick fixes that will quickly break apart. Why would I take advice from someone that does not even know the standard practices of concrete construction? Please save yourself thousands of $ and do not go near this clown. Hopefully my $9k loss will help someone save some $.
They did a great job, on time, and a great price!
Always been very professional, shows up when they say and I can count on them doing the work and doing it right.
Always finishes on schedule
