J.A. Longden Construction

We hired Jim Longden in 2023 to install flooring in our dining room, kitchen, and downstairs bathroom. He also installed a vanity, sink, and toilet for us. He claimed he was capable of doing that work and we hired him in good faith. He made some egregious errors which caused flooding and water damage that was discovered in 2024. Uber our toilet the blocking was gone and the hole under our toilet was too big. He also never sealed the toilet in the floor so you could just wiggle it around in the bathroom floor! A professional contractor would never make these mistakes. Water leaked underneath our bathroom, kitchen, and dining room floors and they all had to be torn out. We had to pay for the repairs out of our own pocket so we are currently $30,000 in debt. We are still fighting with his insurance to pay for this! DO NOT HIRE THIS MAN.

Lets bring this up to date. Jim used to be very dependable. Now he accepts jobs, schedules jobs but does not perform the work nor even notify you that he will not be there. Not only that, but he doesn't return your phone calls when you call to find out the status of the work he promised to do. Hire him ONLY if you want to deal with unnecessary aggravation and delays. Instead, hire someone dependable.

I was looking to have an in law second floor kitchen done, and had been searching for awhile for a contractor to do the cabinet installation and then I found Jim Longden . I challenge anyone to find a contractor better than Jim Longden. He responded quickly to do an estimate, was professional, personable, and did a great job in a short amount of time for a price that was very affordable. Jim told me he could do it in one day, and it took him one day. He gave me an affordable price, and stuck to that price. He was clean in his workspace, no mess, and was respectful of the existing structure, like the hard wood floor. If you want something done right, for a great price, and in a timely manner, you'd be hard pressed to find someone better than Jim.

Jim was not only responsive, but helpful through the process as well in helping me understand what was worth the value and what was not worth spending the extra money. Was honest and professional.

Both Jim and Jeff are excellent carpenters both with an eye for detail. I would not hesitate to recommend J.A. Langden to anyone
