Bruce D. was very understanding of what we as homeowners were looking for. He described the options and gave us the time to make a decision. Once we went with Lednor Gutter Helmet, he described the installation process exactly. The installation was surprisingly fast and the workmanship was excellent.

Install or Replace Gutter Covers and Accessories

Have had Gutter Helmet on our gutters for years. We had a hail storm which damaged the gutters and Gutter Helmet. Lednor replaced the Gutter Helmet efficiently and beautifully in a very short time. They left no mess behind. I’m very happy with their work.

After our original Gutter Helmet system was damaged in a hailstorm our homeowners insurance was not going to pay for replacement. Jed sent them information about the workings of the system and they agreed to pay for the replacement. We had to wait until our roof was replaced, but communication was excellent. Our new Gutter Helmets were installed very professionally and the installer was great about cleaning up the job site.

We had Gutter Helmet installed the first time in 2022 to keep out pine needles, leaves and whirly birds from maple trees. These things definitely work! No more climbing ladders to clean out the gutters. Now, it's 2025 and we needed a new roof. The roofers weren't careful and damaged our gutter helmet system. Needless to say, we had to re-install the Gutter Helmet system again. I phoned Sheila in the office at Gutter Helmet who sent out Jed Hoskinson to access the situation. He was quick to come out and address our concerns. Once the Gutter Helmet system was ready to be installed the workers who came out were very polite and mannerly...they cleaned up the job site very well. Their product really does work and looks nice from the street.

We used Gutter Helmet again after the March hail storm in St. Louis damaged our original Gutter Helmet. We have been very pleased with the process from answering our questions, to working with the insurance company and finally, the installation which happened a week earlier than we were originally told. Everyone at the company has been helpful and polite. We were happy with our original Gutter Helmet and we are happy again.

We're committed to maintaining a network of trusted home service businesses, and those who don't meet our criteria will be rejected or promptly removed from our network.

Criminal Background Check

Who does HomeAdvisor background check?

The owner or principal of each business in HomeAdvisor's network (with the exception of Corporate Accounts) must pass a background check. Unfortunately, we cannot perform a background check on every employee of a business—the background checks are performed only on the owner or principal. As always, we recommend that you conduct your own research on the businesses you hire, including making inquiries directly with the businesses regarding their employee background check policies.

What does the background check cover?

We use a third-party vendor to conduct a criminal records search in the county in which the business owner or principal works. Our third-party vendor uses a national criminal database ("NCD") to screen service professionals. Business owners or principals with felony arrests that carry a pending decision or who are convicted of felonies in the past 7 years ago will not be admitted to the network. Businesses or owners convicted misdemeanors or felonies, or who have dismissed charges or arrests on their records involving rape/incest, sex offenses, or lewd and lascivious behavior at any point in time will not be admitted to our network.

Our background check does not exclude service professionals unless the crime at issue is a felony.

*The comprehensiveness of the NCD varies by state. Please be aware that the reporting in the NCD is particularly limited in the following states: AL, CO, DE, GA, ID, IL, KS, LA, ME, MA, MI, MS, MT, NE, NV, NH, NM, SD, UT, VA, VT, and WY. After initial admission to the HomeAdvisor network, businesses are re-screened if a concern is reported to HomeAdvisor.

Corporate Accounts

Some businesses are employees, franchisees, dealers or independent contractors ("Corporate SP's") of larger national or "Corporate Accounts". When this is the case, we may match you with the Corporate Account or with one of their Corporate businesses. The above screening process does not apply to Corporate Accounts, as HomeAdvisor does not screen Corporate Accounts or Corporate businesses.

Verify Trade License HomeAdvisor checks to see if the business carries the appropriate state-level license. Verify Insurance As a part of our screening process, we encourage professionals to carry general liability insurance. We require coverage for hundreds of services. Verification of State Business Filings For business types that require a Secretary of State filing, we confirm that the business is in good standing in the state in which it is located. Criminal Records Search HomeAdvisor uses 3rd party data sources to conduct a criminal search for any relevant criminal activity associated with the owner/principal of the business. Sex Offender Search We confirm that the owner/principal is not listed on the official state Sex Offender web site in the state in which the owner/principal of the company is located. Bankruptcy Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the history of the principal/owner of the business for bankruptcy filings by or against them. Legal Search for Civil Judgments We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for state level civil legal judgments entered against them. Liens Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for liens placed against them. Identity Verification (SSN) HomeAdvisor verifies the social security number(s) of the owner/principal for identity check purposes. This check applies primarily to smaller business entities. Identity Verification (Reverse Phone Lookup) We conduct a reverse business phone lookup to identify records matching the phone number information provided by the business.
