Good Space

I am at the very beginning of my project but working with Susan has been a pleasure. She has a very good eye and has offered many good ideas. Susan listens very carefully and responds well to my thoughts. I am very much looking forward to continuing this engagement. I feel confident the final product is going to be amazing.

After our house was gutted by fire, we needed to renovate the whole place at once. We had some furniture and art that was not damaged, but we had to replace other items. I wanted our old Victorian home to have a unified look and to feel elegant, yet welcoming and casual. Susan took the whole project in hand, beginning with photos, and a tour of the gutted space. She is a delight to work with â warm and engaging, and a good listener. Her long experience in interior design and decor is an asset to her clients. Susan set up a scaffold for a plan to accomplish a complete refit of existing and new elements into our home. She helped with color choices, furniture and art placement, and provided lots of ideas about using what we had to best advantage. This project is a phased one by necessity. There is so much to do and a lot to purchase in addition to what we had. Susan has provided invaluable advice on how to phase a big job, where to shop for furniture and rugs, and she has provided us with additional resources from software to antique dealers. Aside from Susan expertise and her easygoing nature, I greatly value her "use what you have and source the rest approach. I have always thought of designers as tending to push clients toward high-end retailers or to-the-trade only sources. In fact, when I first contacted Susan, I fully expected her services to be beyond my budget. Not so. I feel that we were partners in this work and that Susan really gets us and what we hope to do. So far, things are coming together nicely. I recommend Susan and Good Space without reservation.

Susan recently helped us design our living room. We really like the result and could not have come up with the color palette on our own. She was available on phone, via emails and, when we needed her, also in person. She was extremely prompt in her response. And her prices were extremely reasonably for the amount of time/work she spend on our project. I definitely recommend her to anyone looking for an interior designer.
