Reviews
Write a ReviewIt would of been a 5 star but it took quite a bit longer than quoted to complete. Adam was very easy to work with and Carlos & Sergio were very professional, helpful and hard working. Great work guys.
Thank you very much Donna. It was a pleasure to work with you, Adam.
From the first time I met with Adam, I had a really good feeling about this group. They completed our kitchen remodel on time and on budget. The whole family is very happy with the results of our Caribbean Kitchen!
Elda, Thank you so much for the kinds words. It was a pleasure to work with you. Best, Adam
This is the first time I've worked with Gold Standard Builders, but the first time they worked inside the house. It was a large project that took a few months, but the result was definitely worth it. The men who did the actual work were clean and polite, and did excellent work. I highly recommend this company!
Jill, Thank you so much for the kind words. It's been a pleasure to work with you, as always. Adam.
Gold Standard Builders gave my family our forever dream home! Adam & Zack are true professionals from beginning to end. They transformed our home from a 3+1 of 1200 sq. ft. to a 4+3 of 2000 sq. ft. It was a complete remodel all the way down to the concrete slab, a new 800 sq. ft. addition and some updates to a detached garage. They completed everything within budget and schedule as promised and helped guide me through the process. They always answered any questions, kept me informed with status and very responsive to return my call/texts within hours. Adam even met me to help pick out kitchen cabinets and countertops. I can't thank them enough for making this process as easy as possible and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a professional general contractor that can do it all.
Dear Jenny, Thank you so much for the kind words. You really helped us a lot to stay on schedule by always being available to make decision, choose finished materials and stay on top of things. It was truly a pleasure working with you, and we hope you enjoy the new house for many years to come. Thank you again, and all the best. Adam.
I met with 6 different contractors and before I had even received their quote I was impressed with and had a good feeling about Gold Standard Builders over all the others. And then I got their quote, and while price is not always everything, their price came in significantly lower than several of their competitors. But the lower price did not mean lower quality work. Adam is an excellent project manager and his team, led by Carlos was very professional with a great attention to detail. Had master bathroom retiled, new faucets, new vanity and replaced flooring and all done in less time than originally expected. Will definitely use them again!!
Juliet, Thank you very much for the kind words. It was a pleasure to work with you and thank you for being on top of things and getting items in a timely manner. This helped us finish the project quickly and efficiently. Adam.
I will hire them for any future project
Hi Elmer, Thank you very much for your kind words and we appreciate you trusting us with a second project for your home. We hope you guys are enjoying the addition we built last year. The new fence and gates are a great addition to the house. We hope you are enjoying the mini golf court. It looks awesome. Best to you and the family, Adam
I used this contractor almost 3 years ago, he told me it was a family business and he had 15 or more years experience. His experience was as a sales person, not a contractor! My tub has a crack in it near the drain as it was not installed nor leveled correctly. I have his note pad where he Googled on how to install a tub. The molding around the tub pulls off the wall as it moves slightly when you get in and out. The shower knob will not stay on after he replaced it twice. The towel bar on the door fell off after the 2nd month. He replaced it once but it comes off all the time and I am sick of replacing. I now need a new door and new tub. I turn the shower fixture from bath mode to shower mode with pliers. The tile floor is not level and you can clearly see how tiles are up higher on one side or another. The tile is a beautiful light grey and the grout he used is now a very dirty dark brown. I travel a lot and it was suppose to be completed in 2-3 weeks. While I was in Australia, the neighbors called the police at 3:00am as the contractor and his girlfriend were staying in my condo. They told my neighbor to f.... off I have a video of how the contractors had tools and dust and trash everywhere. I organized the area so I could walk through. The job was not completed for 12-13 weeks, nightmare. I actually ended up hiring someone to come in and complete it. He uses the pics of my bathroom for his website! The pics don't show the lousy paint job nor does it show he used the old wood trim and used grout and paint to make it look like new behind the toilet. He did pay for the person I hired but I do not have the beautiful new bathroom I paid for. Why post after 3 years? I did not want to do it because I did not want to ruin his business but I need to replace the tub and it frustrates me every time I look at the crack in the tub.
There are two sides to every story! First, I would like to say that I am the first one to say that the job was not properly done! For that, I am very sorry and I apologized countless times. I gave up a payment of $2,950 and was paid a total of $8,800 for the job. In an attempt to rectify the errors, I purchased all new tiles out of my pocket. I also purchased a second tub out of my pocket. All in all, I paid over $10,000 over and above the initial cost of the job, out of pocket, in order to make things right. TUB ISSUE: The 2nd tub was installed by one of my guys, Gabriel, who has been doing this for over 20 years and is an EXCELLENT tradesman. It was installed correctly at the beginning of April 2018. In Feb. 2019 you e-mailed me complaining about a tub issue. This was 10 months after we installed the 2nd tub and left the house. Frank, the contractor you hired and I paid for, did come twice to your house. *My tub has a crack in it near the drain*. Changing the drain was one of the things he was doing. I have his invoices from Aug. 2018! So, 10 months after we installed a second tub, and about 6 months after your contractor did additional work, including the tub drain, you complained to me. Your contractor should bear some responsibility for the work he performed. Regardless, I e-mailed you back in Feb 2019 and said that no matter who the fault it is, let us try to rectify this, and I will try to help as best I can. I never heard from you since. I never once tried to escape my responsibility. I stayed in touch and answered any and all texts, e-mails, and/or phone calls, day or night. He had 15 or more years of experience.* I have never said to anyone that I was in business for 15 or more years. Never! *I have his notepad where he searched on how to install a tub*. WHAT? Notepad with instructions on how to remodel a bathroom? First, I never carry such a notepad, and secondly, were you going through my personal stuff? *the contractor and his girlfriend were staying in my condo*. I never stayed in the condo. This is simply not true! Regarding your 2nd hire. You said that you had a recommended contractor that you wanted to hire. I agreed and reimbursed you twice for your expenses! I paid close to $2,000 for him coming twice to your place. Again, I am truly sorry for what happened. I think that anyone reading this and read the other 16 unsolicited reviews will conclude that this was a one-time case rather than a pattern. all our reviews are unsolicited. no *offers* or *benefits* of any kind were made to anyone writing a review. We are an honest company with the best intentions in mind! I wish you the best going forward.
Adám was very professional and was easy to talk to about expectations and concerns. Would definitely hire him again for another project.
Thank you so much for the kind words. Happy holiday, Adam
They were on time when they said they would be, the one time that they didnt Adam called me immediately and they came. Adam is very tight on the work quality and the time that they come.
Kathy, I appreciate the kind words. Best Adam
I hired Gold Standard Builders to remodeled my entire kitchen, three bathrooms, new flooring and paint the entire house, as well as chimney wall update. I am very pleased with the results. Working with Adam was a pleasure, he is very professional and easy to work with. I would recommend Gold Standard Builders to anyone including friends and family and I will use them in the future for any other projects. Very pleased five stars all the way!
Dear Rebeca, Thank you so much for the kind words. It was a pleasure working with you as well. You were so easy going and helpful in ever way needed. Best to you and Erick. Enjoy your new place. Thanks again, Adam
