Words cannot do justice for how immaculate of a job Gold Leaf Tree Services did with my three green ash trees. Customer service is beyond exceptional. 100% recommended. Had to grab extra business cards for friends and family.

We hired Gold Leaf to remove a 30-40 foot maple tree in our backyard in White Bear Lake on 9/25/2024. The communication from them was excellent and they did an OUTSTANDING job. The estimate we got from them was a great price and we will definitely be hiring them again for any tree work we need done and will also be recommending them to our friends and family as well. As a matter of fact, our neighbor saw how good of work they were doing while they were at our house and is having them do some work for him as well.

If you don't want to read the whole review, the main reason we did not give them 5 stars is that they seriously damaged 2 of our trees and left a mess in our perennial gardens. We believe the plants will come back, but we had a lot of large branches and debris to pick up after they left- we didn't like having to do any clean up- that is why we paid someone. We will likely have to removed the two very damaged trees which makes us really upset. We assumed we would have turf wear, but never did we think a tree company would damage other trees that are not even close the the tree being removed. We didn't notice the damage until they had been paid and left. They also broke our neighbors fence, but did fix that right away. It looks dumb now though because it is the only unstained white peice of the otherwise brown fence. We had 9 different companies come out and give us a quote for our dying elm that was large and over a fence and many perennials. The quotes ranged from 2,000-12,000 with every company having a different way of getting the job done. The main reason we chose Gold Leaf is because we were told that the tree crew would not need to go in our neighbors yard, they were one of three lowest quotes to do the job and because we were told there would be no damage to our yard since they do not use heavy machinery. They were quick to get us a quote. They had the quote in writing and included license and insurance information with the quote. The person who gave us the quote was kind and answered every question. They worked with us on the date, picking a time in their schedule about 3 weeks out. They were a nice balance of not too booked out but also busy. On the day of the cut, they arrived before 8 and got the job done in less than 3 hours. This was less than a half day but also I wonder if the quality was better if they took their time? As promised they did not use any cranes or heavy machinery in our yard. They did have a truck in the driveway and a 4 wheeler with turf tires. Scores 5/5 Ease of Getting a quote/Friendly employee 5/5 Their puntuality for a quote and doing the job when they say 4.5/5 The cost of their service in comparison to other companies 2/5 Doing the job without damaging the yard 2.5/5 Clean up/Fixing anything they break accidently In conclusion, I would think hard about hiring this company again for any job with trees nearby. I think they were quick, cheap and easy to deal with BUT they aren't very careful. If I was removing a tree in an open field, I would probably have had no issue with them and would use them again.
