We hired Jeremy Gerber for pool repair and replastering. Jeremy required cash payment (no cc's, so there is no chance to dispute issues) He asked for half down and half "once we were completely satisfied with the job" Those are his exact words. We paid Jeremy half and he (his 2 workers primarily) completed the initial work. Jeremy then met with us and insisted on the second half of the payment even though the work was not completed. The light still was not installed or working and final coping stones not installed. Also, at this point Jeremy said his electrician would need to do extra work on the light (he never quoted an extra charge for this work) He also said our pump was not working and that we needed a new pump for a cost of $1750. We agreed, even though I knew our pump had been working before. He hastily installed a new pump, which also didn't seem to be working correctly. We then began asking for follow up on the outstanding issues as well as additional testing of the installed systems. Jeremy evaded us and simply asked for full payment of the pump. We sent several texts to him with the answers we needed and asked for follow up and responses, and then we would pay for the pump, the only item left. Jeremy continued to evade our questions and said he need to come into the yard to "look at the pool plaster and chemicals" and he would then let us know what needed to be done. At this time (without any notification to us) Jeremy took out the new pool pump and left our prior pump "installed" with poor electrical and plumbing connections. Interestingly, our prior pump works fine, except it was "reinstalled" improperly with significant leaks and pressure issues. Of course, we have heard nothing else in response to our issues from Jeremy. We have had to have another company come out and repair all shoddy electrical/plumbing at significant additional cost. The reputable company that has done the repairs, advised that the salt water system was incorrectly installed and the correct electrical work was not done. Jeremy did not complete the work as agreed, he sold us additional equipment we didn't need by saying our current equipment was broken. He refused to follow up on any of these issues. And then came onto our property and caused damage to our existing equipment. Overall, it has been a terrible experience and I would not recommend Jeremy/Gerber Pools to anyone.

They installed new pump and re-plumbed old pump parts. Kept in touch, arrived at scheduled time with new stuff and did the job in a short amount of time. Was friendly and informative and hauled off the old parts. Good first impression.

Found Gerber on HomeAdvisor to re-plaster pool. Jeremy received final payment on Oct. 24 after plaster applied. I expressed concerns then about debris in pool and white colored film on bottom of deep end. Said he would be coming back to add chemicals to clear it up. Asked if I needed to put pool sweep in. He said not to. He came back in a week. Condition of pool same. Added chemicals. Said would be coming back following week to add more...let us know when to put sweep in. November 9th, called him. Condition seemed to be worsening. After hearing we had not added the pool sweep, he claimed that was the problem. Reminded him he was supposed to come back, add more chemicals and tell us when to put the sweep back in. He had never come back to do any of that. November 11th, Jeremy sent David to our house. He later texted that he had talked to David about condition of pool, and would be calling me with options to fix things the following Monday or Tuesday. That would have been November 14th or 15th. Never called. November 15th, had a 3rd party inspect pool. Said condition had nothing to do with poor brushing or delay in adding sweeper. Sweepers should not be added until 28-30 days after plaster. Texted Jeremy. No reply. Had another pool service inspect and estimate cost of re-plaster. They reported signs of calcium leaking through plaster and concerns that Gerber plaster had not properly cured/bonded. Would not know total cost of repairs until pool emptied. January 3rd, pool service reported pockets/bubble where plaster had not bonded. Took video and texted Jeremy. He replied he would be happy to come over and look for himself. Did not come over. January 4th, pool service reported over 50% of pool surface was hollow and would have to be chipped/stripped away and hauled out. Texted Jeremy with findings and contact info for pool service so he could talk to them himself. No reply. January 5th, had pool service start work on repairs/replacement. Texted Jeremy with picture. Told him if no reply by 5pm that day, I would assume he accepted no responsibility. That started several texts. Accused me of not telling him problems sooner. Said never got November 15th text; never happened, Sent him copy. He seemed to suggest it was fabricated. Complained about taking a 7pm phone call from me...saying that was proof of how responsive he is. I called him late only because he did not return calls or texts all day long. Told Jeremy that even if he did not get that one November 15th text, he knew there was a problem. Never came back to add chemicals. Never advised on pool sweep. Never called back with options" after getting report from someone he sent to house. My last text to him asked if he was prepared to deny any of that. No reply. Jeremy also said that since the pool was already busted up so there is nothing he could or would do. Reminded him he had 3-days to come look at pool himself before we instructed the other company rip it out. He opted not to. Other pool services do not demand final payment after plaster applied. Final payment is due after a 30-day walk through. Other pool services will also quote a best and worse case scenario for prep work separate from the plaster work. Pool has to be empty to know. Ours was a worse case scenario.
