Great experience loved the work done on floors and drywall!
I hired Friedman Home Improvements to repair my 30-year-old wooden shed. They had to remove the rotting-wood doors, frame, and siding on the south side of the shed. Then, they had to build a new door frame, install new siding, build and install new doors. They built all of this on my patio. They did a beautiful job.
Very good workmanship. Job was completed quickly. Excellent customer service.
Skilled masonry work. Attention to detail & careful of surroundings around the fireplace. Highly recommend!
tldr, I have a leaking garage that took 2 years to build and it cost ~30k ($29,924) We had damage from the 2019 tornadoes and had Jason on the job. Our garage was hit by a tree and was deemed unsafe. Materials were delivered in Nov 2019. They sat in the rain and snow until summer 2020. These materials were used to build the new garage. The wood was moldy and the osb swelled from moisture. The long timeline may not have been entirely his fault, covid made sourcing materials difficult. November to July is a long while though There were a lot of permitting issues, that took time to resolve as well. I called the city and township offices to check up on the project and learned the build had been delayed because he never applied for a permit. He didn't realize that a building permit from the county is required and thought the township office would take care of it. It seemed like Jason made things more difficult and lengthy because he didn't know how to navigate the bureaucratic side of things. Jason also called me and talked to me about someone else's project for 30 min. After the build was & complete and water seeps in under the walls every time it rains, even a light rain, the osb soaks up water like a sponge. He sent somewhere to fix it but he only caulked around the bottom of the siding which did nothing to help the problem. There is no flashing around the roof trim and it looks tacked up as an afterthought, carpenter bees moved in to the bare wood. There are open soffits allowing animals and insects free access. My yard was also left a complete wreck, some of the bricks of my patio were ruined by demolition and a giant pile of soil was left from shoddy foundation work that I now have to move by hand. He is aware of the problems and hasn't done anything. I would not recommend this contractor.
I wish I had heeded the reviews more carefully before entrusting Friedman to replace the entire roof. My advice to you is proceed cautiously with this contractor unless you enjoy bullying and unethical exchanges with the owner. Read BBB and other websites, Pictures speak a thousand words, please see my Google review to see a photo. You be the judge whether you can trust this contractor on any roofing work.
I, as the owner of Friedman Home Improvements and Masonry, would like to take the opportunity to respond to this customers comments and review. We always give our customers respect and the opportunity to ask as many questions as they like. Mr. Chen asked a myriad of questions, Which were all answered in great detail before the job began and before the contract was drawn up. I also answered all of the same questions upon our arrival on-site the morning of starting the job. We have absolutely no issue with answering any questions that our customers have, we actually welcome them. But, in this case, Mr. Chen was purposely trying to create a stat
Paid way too much for a crappy job. The owner was an arrogant, immature person. The job took too long. The guy who originally started the work only worked from about 10am to 2pm and made several mistakes. Bobby was brought in to try and fix all the problems and did the best he could with what he had to work with. When I got upset with the owner, his response was, "I should get credit for trying to make things right." Sorry, you don't get credit for trying to fix a crappy job; you do the job right in the first place especially for the outrageous amount of money I paid.
We went to the ends of the earth for this customer nothing made her happy . The guys name is Andy, that started the project . He is a great guy and a great worker, the customer only gave us access to the shed from 10-4 . It was stated very clearly that Andy has a son that is disabled and needed picked up every day by 2:45. She had an attitude from day one regarding the original contractor she hired to build the shed . They did a miserable job during that actual building if the shed, windows not sealed , bad trim work, shed unlevel , door did not open well, etc. Our scopes of work were only inside , as she continued to fight.
Have a 12x12 shed that had much warping and rotting. Friedman ripped off two layers of siding, and applied one new layer, replaced the trim boards, built new doors and painted it. I them to just paint it all beige, but Bobby painted the trim boards white. The shed looks GREAT, and the cleanup was very good.
Very competitive price. Showed up on time and quickly. Did a great job. The only reason for the 4 stars was that they sent a gentleman out that barely spoke English. It was hard to communicate with him while reviewing the finished work on site
