How We Got Started

I chose to work in this industry because since childhood, I have been fascinated by how things are made, especially things related to the home and the feeling of home that they can create. Instead of cartoons, I watched This Old House with Bob Vila. As a young adult, my first real project was converting a 100 year old a-frame attic into a two bedroom apartment. Having worked for corporate America for over a decade, most recently at 3M, I bring a highly tuned sense of organization, efficiency, and most importantly customer service. Combined with my passion for home improvement and remodeling, Five Star Bath Solutions is not only my dream, it's the perfect expression of my most valuable skills. I am a husband and father of two children and this business is my way of expressing my passion for craftsmanship and my business acumen while taking care of my family at the same time.

Install or Replace a Shower

We love the work done in our bathroom. Our old tile shower had leaked through the lining and ruined the floor. Five Start replaced the floor and installed a beautiful new shower.

Install or Replace a Bathtub Liner or Shower Surround

Every one I met from 5 Star was first class and knew how to work well with what I gave them ....an old bathroom Within an older home !!! All within their Promised time ... three days ! I'd use them again if I had to. They did a superb job in my old Belle Meade Home .

Love my new bathroom! If you like blue, call these guys. No one else had blue. Only grey's and creams, blacks and whites. Dream mermaid bathroom...ahhh.

Criminal Background Check

Who does HomeAdvisor background check?

The owner or principal of each business in HomeAdvisor's network (with the exception of Corporate Accounts) must pass a background check. Unfortunately, we cannot perform a background check on every employee of a business—the background checks are performed only on the owner or principal. As always, we recommend that you conduct your own research on the businesses you hire, including making inquiries directly with the businesses regarding their employee background check policies.

What does the background check cover?

We use a third-party vendor to conduct a criminal records search in the county in which the business owner or principal works. Our third-party vendor uses a national criminal database ("NCD") to screen service professionals. Business owners or principals with felony arrests that carry a pending decision or who are convicted of felonies in the past 7 years ago will not be admitted to the network. Businesses or owners convicted misdemeanors or felonies, or who have dismissed charges or arrests on their records involving rape/incest, sex offenses, or lewd and lascivious behavior at any point in time will not be admitted to our network.

Our background check does not exclude service professionals unless the crime at issue is a felony.

*The comprehensiveness of the NCD varies by state. Please be aware that the reporting in the NCD is particularly limited in the following states: AL, CO, DE, GA, ID, IL, KS, LA, ME, MA, MI, MS, MT, NE, NV, NH, NM, SD, UT, VA, VT, and WY. After initial admission to the HomeAdvisor network, businesses are re-screened if a concern is reported to HomeAdvisor.

Corporate Accounts

Some businesses are employees, franchisees, dealers or independent contractors ("Corporate SP's") of larger national or "Corporate Accounts". When this is the case, we may match you with the Corporate Account or with one of their Corporate businesses. The above screening process does not apply to Corporate Accounts, as HomeAdvisor does not screen Corporate Accounts or Corporate businesses.

Verify Trade License HomeAdvisor checks to see if the business carries the appropriate state-level license. Verify Insurance As a part of our screening process, we encourage professionals to carry general liability insurance. We require coverage for hundreds of services. Verification of State Business Filings For business types that require a Secretary of State filing, we confirm that the business is in good standing in the state in which it is located. Criminal Records Search HomeAdvisor uses 3rd party data sources to conduct a criminal search for any relevant criminal activity associated with the owner/principal of the business. Sex Offender Search We confirm that the owner/principal is not listed on the official state Sex Offender web site in the state in which the owner/principal of the company is located. Bankruptcy Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the history of the principal/owner of the business for bankruptcy filings by or against them. Legal Search for Civil Judgments We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for state level civil legal judgments entered against them. Liens Search We use 3rd party data sources to check the principal/owner of the business for liens placed against them. Identity Verification (SSN) HomeAdvisor verifies the social security number(s) of the owner/principal for identity check purposes. This check applies primarily to smaller business entities. Identity Verification (Reverse Phone Lookup) We conduct a reverse business phone lookup to identify records matching the phone number information provided by the business.
