FTW Tree Services

When the owner of FTW tree services first came out to give us a quote, my husband and I agreed that he could sell ice to Eskimos. He looked at everything we needed to be done and gave us what we thought was a fair price. He set us up for a Monday which was our day off. The Monday he was to show up he called just before the time he was to show up and canceled. He said his crew did not show up, rescheduled, and said he would take 2 hundred dollars off the price for the inconvenience. On the day of the reschedule his crew showed up at 9 am. They started with the tree that needed cut down. His crew is very polite and respectful of the property. They worked until 5:00 pm meticulously cutting this tree down, keeping away from the electrical lines that were very close to the tree. Each piece of the tree came down precisely where they wanted it to. After 5:00 the owner and his wife showed up to help with the rest of the things that needed to be done. I spoke to his wife while she was there and she was very nice. He and his wife then left leaving the crew to finish. They finished the job at 9:55. Of course, it was dark outside and we really could not see what had been done and there was no walk around done. I thought it was customary for the customer to get a finished walk around to make sure the job was complete. Any work we have had done in or outside our home always ended with a final inspection. One of his crew came to collect the bill and when my husband went to pay with a credit card he was told there was a 4% surcharge. We were not told this so the owner then came back with the bill. I mentioned I had met his wife and she seemed nice. He then gave me some gruff answer and I felt as though I had been dismissed. He was there to collect his money. Again he said nothing about the surcharge and was babbling about one of my neighbors complaining. So with the hidden fee of a 4%surcharge, he then collected an extra $150.00 of the $200.00 he discounted. The next morning we took a walk around to survey the job. First of all the bush he took out and ground down in the front yard was done but the tree roots that we asked to be ground down around the bush were not done. Three big tree branches that were supposed to be cut were not cut at all. A nice size piece of the tree was left on the other side of our fence along with I guess a sheath for a chainsaw. Inside the fence, there are a few good size pieces of tree limbs that were left as well. I feel like in the end, they did a bad job just to get it finished up. In my opinion and I am no professional, they should have come and done the tree one day and took another day to finish the rest of the job. So now we have to find and pay another tree company to come Finnish the job that we have already paid for hidden fees and all. Would I ever recommend FTW tree service? Absolutely NOT! I would not recommend using them unless you like paying hidden fees along with not doing the job they promised.

Did a nice job. The removed and dug out an overgrown bush/tree, several bushes and cut off a couple of small trees. Very pleasant and courteous.

Chris and his crew did great work! They got my three large pine trees down quickly, cleaned up the yard afterward, and did it all for a reasonable price.
