Reviews
Write a ReviewWithout a doubt they are the very best contractor of any type I have ever dealt with. It's almost like I was an aging family member. Quality of work was top shelf. Fast efficient and courteous. Pricing would be hard to beat. I'd rate Daeunhauer way more than 5 star.
They were excellent.

First, I can only speak on behalf of the HVAC section of this company. I must say, they took care of us, and we truly recognize and appreciate it! Our home is 20 years old and with that comes with lots of maintenance as every homeowner can attest to. We have two HVAC systems one for the first floor and basement and one for the second floor. Our first floor unit went out last year. We had SEVERAL quotes for the unit last year and Danhauer gave us a steal on the system. Jacob, their sales rep, came out and spoke with us. He was very, very friendly and easy to talk to. He made promises to us that he followed through with which, in this day and age, is harder to come by. We LOVED our first floor unit as it worked like a dream (we got a Carrier with a heat pump). This year, our second floor unit was going out. Again, we got MANY quotes from all major companies (and there are many). Jacob came to quote us again and offered the SAME price as last year for the unit this year. To us that was a bargain because it was priced so well even for last year’s standard. We took it! I must say, this time around we had issues with the installation, and it didn’t work at first.. we of course had record 100 degree days so a lot of things were working against us. Despite all this, Danhauer came through for us after coming back to our house a number of times. They sent their best techs (Bill, Shawn, and especially Tyler) to help solve the problem. At first they replaced the coil but it ended up being something else. At the end, they ended up reinstalling a whole brand new BIGGER system for us (at no extra charge from the original price of a smaller system) and sent a reliable team (Keith and JB) to ensure the install went smoothly. We were in communication with Danhauer and Jacob in particular who gave us his personal cell and promised we would be taken care of until all was finally fixed and working beautifully. And sure enough it’s exactly what they did. Even though we had some complications, Danhauer stood by their word and took care of us at no extra charge (and a bigger system too because that’s what it took!). THANK YOU, DANHAUER to your entire team! We highly recommend you all and appreciate all the follow up and diligent work in making sure we were in good hands!
We called Dauenhauer for a clogged toilet and spent $414 for the unclogging service. The young tech was very nice, however, seemed to be brand new and gave us false information about the issue. During his visit he stated that if the toilet continued to have issues, we needed to fully replace it, gave us a quote to replace it, and told us to call back when we were ready to set up the toilet replacement if the clog happen again. He did not tell us that his work was under warranty and that if the clog happen again we were able to call back and have them try to repair it again for free. Less than a week later we called back to get the quote for a toilet replacement which was $399 and told them we were going to call around for prices. Again, we did not call back for them to repair the issue because we were not told that was an option. We had another reputable company who quotes us $299 for a toilet replacement and when they came out to replace the toilet they informed us that a new toilet would not in fact fix the issue and that there was a clog that the previous plumber had only pushed further down the drain. We called to ask for a refund on the work and Michelle Steyn with customer relations was kind at first and told us that she would have to ask the plumbing manager about a refund. We have documentation that her manager declined any type of refund and when she told us that we could speak with the plumbing manager she then backtracked and said any type of refund was up to her and that we could no longer speak with the plumbing manager. We became increasingly upset, as did Michelle, and the conversation became completely unprofessional. We were promised a refund on 10/31 and have reached back out to confirm and have yet to receive any response from Michelle and still have not received a refund or response. To be quite honest, I have used you all in the past for multiple businesses and have had a pleasant experience but being in a customer based industry I have learned that one bad experience can lose a customer forever and this experience, due to Michelle's unprofessional behavior and unwillingness to refund based no facts, you all have lost our business and referrals permanently.
Very Expensive $$$ Dauenhauer Plumbing cost More than their competitors in the area. They charged me $600 for a toilet installation! After this work was completed, I got a quote from another plumber and their installation cost was $180. Dauenhauer did include what appeared to be about a $130 toilet, so their total install price was $470 compared to $180, a $290 difference. It seems that the plumbers (salesmen) work on commission and found several items that needed fixing. Originally, they came out due to a leak in my shower, that leaked through the ceiling. By the time they were done with installing a new water valve, bath spout, shower control gasket it was $1,504.50 including the VIP discount! When they were done, they said I have a blockage in my line, and they could send someone out tomorrow to unblock it for $450! The plumbers did not have the equipment with them to do this themselves. I got a quote from another company, and they said it would only be $235 to clear a line. I did get a call from the owner about the service later. I let him know I thought his prices were high. He was very polite on the phone, but said he thought their pricing was fair. He said often prices quoted by others end up being more when they show up to do the work. That has not usually been my experience. He said he thought that the toilet cost over $200, but he was unsure. He did say someone from the complaint dept. would call me. More than a week later this has not occurred. I also called twice to get my “VIP membership” canceled. They said they would confirm this through email. I have not received any confirmation. I also had to contact them 4 times to get my invoice, which finally happened. It was not very specific, like the cost of items including the toilet were not specifically listed.
We apologize for any inconvenience that our customer may have experienced. It is never our intention to cause further stress. The original work order stated that there was a leak coming through the ceiling from the tub upstairs. Because the technician was dispatched for the leak, they were not prepared to treat a clog. It would be impossible for a technician to keep all equipment for all scenarios in their trucks. We understand that there are other home service companies that are less expensive than we are, and there are others who are more expensive than Dauenhauer. What sets us apart is the warranty that we place on the work that we do, and the reputation of excellence since 1958.
It fixed the problem.
A one day job turned jnto 2. They had to use my materials to create a platform for the unit which was part of the quote but they didn't have anything with them. I have been waiting on a refund of 90 dollars for the Advantech subfloor of mine they used. The lineset outside is to low to the ground and not secured to the wall as it runs along the foundation a good distance. I have been waiting on them to come fix that as well. They also damaged the ceiling in one room by drilling many holes looking for a place to put the vent and in another room the busted out a chunk of the plaster which the vent did not cover. There is also debri in one of the vents.

They installed HVAC at my mother-in-laws almost a year ago. We have already had to do three different repairs due to shoddy work by the installers and still do not have the inspection sticker due to Daunhauer's incompetence and lack of communication.
[Member Name Removed], thank you for your review. We use your comments to train our techs. We apologize for our communication issue. This isn't our normal way of doing business. Please reach out to our Service Manager on this issue 502-873-6144.
I was charged almost double the going rate. A friend of mine paid almost half for a larger hot water heater less than a year ago installed by Daunhauer.
[Member Name Removed], thank you for your review. We use your comments to train our techs. Unfortunately, water heater prices have increased over the last year due to COVID. Material and parts are hard to get and inventory has been low. All manufacturers have had to increase their cost of water heaters and other supplies. We are sorry for this, however, it is beyond our control.
